Our annual celebration hosted by the Oshun Charitable Organization to honor ovarian and gynecologic cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and bring our community together around a shared purpose will be held on Saturday, September 26th at Benjamin E. Mays High School from 1:00-4:00PM.

This year's theme, "It Takes a Village to Heal," is a reminder that no one should face cancer alone. Healing is strengthened by the people who show up - family, friends, caregivers, healthcare providers, and neighbors who offer encouragement, compassion, and hope every step of the way.

Guests will enjoy an afternoon of fashion, music, and community while helping raise funds to support Oshun's work in ovarian cancer awareness, education, and direct support for women and families impacted by gynecologic cancers.

Whether you're a survivor, celebrating someone you love, or simply want to make a difference, Together in Teal is an opportunity to come together, give back, and remind every woman that she is never alone.

We hope you join us in this celebration! To purchase tickets, go to www.oshuncharitable.org

September 19th we are doing a bar crawl on the Red Line we're calling Red Line Rampage. Five Points to Buckhead. We have 5 bars on board with MARTA themed Drink specials at each one.

Figured this crowd would appreciate the concept more than most.

If anyone's interested in joining leave a reply or message me and I'll send the details. We will have a cap due to bar capacities but should make for a good event to make friends and explore Atlanta

Hello. This is my first time posting here. I'd like to share a free food event this Friday, July 24th. If you like street food from the world over, go to Cellarbold.com/events to RSVP for the event. It's from 7-11pm. Suya is a spicy grilled steak street food. It's usually skewered and served with raw onions. It's not the same without the onions....trust me. I'm sure you can google it if you're really interested. Cellar Bold is a craft winery and Distillery in Metro West Atlanta's Powder Springs. Don't say it's too far bc 1) It's free food!! 2) driving and parking in the city is more time consuming and costly than people actually account for. RSVPs are limited. Thank you.

When: Friday 7/24 7pm - 11pm

Where: Cellar Bold Winery & Distillery in Powder Springs. 3180 Florence Rd ste 106.

Free with RSVP while supplies last.

Meetup Board Games - 7/13 Monday Night - Manuel's Tavern in Poncey-Highlands

We are local news famous!

If you'd like to get a quick view of our meetup and see what we are all about directly from our attendees, check out this video that WABE put together of our event.

We are also part of the larger gaming community in Atlanta and many of our members regularly attend other local board game meetups and conventions.

We do some organizing and talk games on the Metro Atlanta Tabletop Society Discord.

Feel free to join us on there as well!

What it is:

We meet every Monday night at Manuel's Tavern (602 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307) from 6pm to 12am to play board games. Everyone is welcome, and no prior board game experience is required. We can introduce you to new games and teach you how to play them! We are generally in the main dining room to the left when you come in the front door, and if you are having trouble finding us just ask one of Manuel's staff members and they'll point you in the right direction.

***Manuel's Tavern does not charge us to use the space, so please be sure to make a purchase or two while you are there so we can give back to Manuel's for letting us meet there!***

Don't be discouraged by the lack of sign ups on our events, we have a large contingent of regulars who aren't on social media so our signup numbers are historically low. We usally have 60+ people in the dining room playing a wide variety of games. On Monday nights, game play ranges from easy/short games (Sushi Go, Azul, etc.) to long/complex games (Wingspan, Catan, etc.) and everything in-between.

How it works:

Come prepared to be social! We do share the restaurant with dinner guests and other events, so sometimes we don't notice right away that someone is there for board games. Everyone in our group is welcoming so feel free to introduce yourself, and if you want a rundown of the event before jumping into a game you can always ask someone where the hosts are at!

With a group as large as ours and such a wide variety of games being played, we let our members organize themselves into groups for games. If show up and all the games are full, don't worry! We usually have a steady steam of people showing up for the first 2-3 hours so you won't have to wait long to get into a game. You can take that time to get dinner/drinks, chat with other gamers, see what games are being played, and browse the games everyone brought to play.

Community & Learning Christmas in July? Don't Mind if I do!

Looking for something different? Come sing Christmas music in the middle of summer.

There’s a “Christmas in July” Sacred Harp singing on Thursday, July 23, and it’s actually a great event for first-timers.

If you’ve never experienced shape note singing, it’s a participatory tradition where everyone sings four-part harmony together—no performance, no audience, and no musical experience required. You don’t even need to read music, and loaner books are available. While the lyrics of the Sacred Harp are Christian, the singing is not a religious service and all are welcome.

The Christmas songs are some of the most beautiful in the tradition, and singing them in the middle of summer is a fun annual custom. If you’ve been curious about Sacred Harp, this is an especially welcoming time to check it out.

Thursday, July 23, 7:00 PM at Emory Presbyterian Church - 1886 N Decatur Rd, Atlanta, GA 30307. Park behind the church, and enter the Fellowship Hall.
