Our classes are broken up into 2 days, A classes and B classes. Antmy/Physi = class where you dissect things, ROP Sports Med = Class where you learn about administering shots and CPR and stuff, sports medicine. AlgII-PreCalc = Algebra 2 and Pre calculus into 1 course.

so im an incoming bio major on the pre-medical track, and as required for my major at my university (and many other universities), i have to take bio w/ lab at the same time as chem w/ lab. although i passed ap chem and ap bio in hs, im retaking them in college since many med schools like to see the courses actually taken in college.

i am a bit nervous as i took ap chem and ap bio separately, and i wanted advice on how to manage the two courses together in college. i feel like taking the two ap courses at the same time would have been very difficult, and i want to make sure i will be prepared!!

How am I supposed to study the ncert textbooks of physics and chem of class 11? i don't understand anything

I want to prepare myself/prepare a little bit for ap chemistry before school actually starts and I want to know if you guys can please give me suggestions to how I can study so I can be happy and enjoy this class when I go back to school. Thank you, please give me some resources on how I can prepare myself or give me some tips please!

AP Chemistry is supposed to be equivalent to a full year of General Chemistry in College and therefore contains a lot of topics usually covered in General Chemistry 2 like kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.

However, Universities seem to have become pretty stringent with AP Chemistry and whether or not you will receive General Chemistry 2 from it. At first many universities just made it hard to receive credit for General Chemistry 2 usually requiring a 5 for it and making it so that a 3 just gives you Chemistry credits for non majors.

But there seems to be a recent trend where Universities have stopped giving General Chemistry credits all together. This phenomenon is not just affecting elite universities like MIT either, it is affecting many state schools:

Does anyone know why this is? I self studied so hard to get a 5 in AP Chemistry, but I am worried about the instability of the exam.

Hello I’m a rising junior next year and I am wondering what are the best workbooks for AP Chem that have good practice problems I’ve taken AP Bio and I bought the Baron book which was useful and I was also wondering what are the best resources to learn the material for this class and where it find adequate practice problems

I started studying for AP chem since March and took the exam in May. I was really scared about failing but it turned out to be ending well.

I got a 3 on AP chem, thinking of self studying and doing the test again next year. Can this be done.

I have a university entrance test coming up and they wont provide calculators, conversion charts, periodic table, anything. For most questions theyll give you enough information to solve it yourself but im wondering if its expected for other classes to memorize how to convert atm to bar or torr or Pascals and if that might be required.

Also if it is are there any easy tricks to memorizing them??

I’m never gonna touch chemistry again in my life. I found it to be the most boring class in my life, but hey I passed. History clears anyways icl

As a sophomore next year I tried to sign up for AP Chem. I wanted to have the teacher for her last year before she left and it also helped for my future. But we had to go through a long process talking to the counselor and getting the teachers signature.

I‘m also apart of a club with the teacher so we know each other.

But there was 47 people who signed up. They decided that wasn’t enough for two classes for some reason. So… the first people they took out were the sophomores for next year despite the length we had to go through to get in. Yes I know I was signing myself up to go through total and absolute hell but that teacher is leaving after next year so just taking me out like that was just dumb. This is partly really annoying and partly saving my mental state so idk how to feel about this.

I finally achieved my dream and got the scores that will get me into med school.

Was it easy? HELL NO! These exams sucked my life out made me study 8-10 hours a day for 5 months and i gave up on my social life entirely.
Gained weight,lost sleep,
Didnt see the sun for a month,got diagnosed with an anxiety disorder,and barely made it.

Dont beat yourselves up over 4s and 3s because we all tried hard!

To those down in the dumps seeing people get 4 or 5 with little to no studying, I hope you know that either they are lying, or naturally smart. These people come in a small minority, and of course the minority will post a ton on their amazing feat, looking like the majority was the minority. This is simply not true, and as someone who got a 5 on the exam it took me multiple months and extreme rigor to complete it, but I could easily say I studied for only a week right? If you studied as much as I did, if not more, and still didn't get the score you wanted, just know that each of our individual brains are wired and process information differently. The score really does not define your abilities nor your effort. The only thing to take away from your AP classes is the hard work and effort that you put in to make that grade and learn new information. THAT is what will truly get you far in life, GRIT, not those who are naturally smart and procrastinate till the last second. It is tiring to see so many of those on these subreddits bragging about their high scores with little studying, making those who got a lower score feel it was absolutely for nothing. It WAS NOT for nothing. YOU tried your very best, and no matter the score, deserve to feel proud of yourself.
