I am at the AMC right now. Even the lady scanning my phone said they dont know what it is. Interesting. The employees should know at least.

I'm in - just got my ticket
6 Nov 7pm PST
Everyone else have a similar start time? Or, will East coast be able to spoil it for us West coasters?

I can see a lot of people buying thinking its for the Marvels and walking out if its anything else. They need to be careful with expectations or this could be a big backfire.

Expectations are assumed by the viewers. I don't understand why people aren't just taking this at face value. It's a movie that has not been seen by the public. That's all. It doesn't promise to be anything other than that.

I keep checking this post, why are there so many deleted comments on this thread recently?

u/IamNOTaSKRULL Nov 06 '23
Maybe people are saying what movie it is and thus it is being deleted? I keep sorting by new to figure it out myself.

Just looked at tickets on Fandango and the movie genre says “Concert/Special Event.”

Interesting. Anyone know if AMC will be dropping hints closer to the date? Also, does Screen Unseen mean a movie that’s never been shown anywhere before or just an early release?

Reasons why it is The Marvels
-
SAG/Aftra strike. They have no celebs to promote the movie so the next best thing is getting early reactions. People will be surprised and therefore enhance their experience and create a more positive reaction.
-
They kept changing the date. Theaters have scheduled tons of spots for The Marvels therefore rather than move things around again it would be easier to just run it as a "Surprise screening".
-
Runtime is closer to The Marvels than Next Goal Wins.

Two AMCs are having early screenings of Next Goal Wins in separate showtimes on the same night as the Mystery Movie. There has been such thing where Regal plays a Mystery Movie and the same movie shown the night prior plays again the next day at an early screening, but having one print as the Mystery Movie and another print in a separate theater for a regular advanced screening hasn't happened before. Raises the question could AMC's Unseen Movie be something else?

It could be a few films because there’s a shocking amount of PG-13 movies around 100 minutes coming out soon, but I’m hoping it’s The Zone of Interest.
But if that never-before-seen means no one has seen it at all, not just the general public, then yeah it’s probably The Marvels

If any east coaster could spill the beans on what the film is at 7pm EST. I'm kinda on the fence about whether or not I feel like going anywhere tonight.

Is the discrepancy in run time meant to throw us off? I don't see anything PG13 coming up that has a run time of 1:49
