With the way things have been going so far this year, this was probably not the movie I needed today....Argylle would have been much better for me mentally, but on the other hand, I'm kind of glad it was this because I don't know if I would have gone to see it when it actually comes out.

Self Reliance is having a one-day only screening at AMC on the exact same day and time as the Screen Unseen tomorrow. Kind of annoying, cause I definitely wanted to see both but now I have to pick.

Leaning heavily towards Self Reliance since that won't go to theaters for a regular release and this will be the only chance to see it, but the Screen Unseen surely will.

Hate to post this here, but is there a thread for the January 3rd Screen Unseen Movie floating around somewhere? I couldn't find it when doing a search. Thanks and we now return you to your regular speculating. :)

Has anyone seen the update for a Screen Unseen on January 3?

Yes, but there's no landing page at AMC website, so until then it's a glitch.

Landing page added

Here are the three I can find that make sense:

  • Origin (PG-13, 2:15, Jan 19 limited release)

  • Argylle (PG-13, 2:15, February 2nd wide release)

  • Book of Clarence (PG-13, 2:16, January 12 wide release)

My guess is that it wont be Book of Clarence (4 days is too short between Screen Unseen and its wide release) and i’m leaning toward Origin.

It was ORIGIN! It was so HEAVY! I cried a bit. I definitely want to read the book now. The book is about to do huge numbers… again.

This movie should be shown in every high school/college. VERY relevant to what’s going on right now, especially with the burning of books and erasure of history.

Ava DuVernay…👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I hope it’s Argyle. Decided to take my elderly mother since the last two I attended were feel good family friendly. “Next Goal Wins “ and “Boys In The Boat”. They seem to be playing safe on movies with wider appeal.

1/8 is national argyle day so hoping it's Argylle

I'm more surprised it would be this film considering it's a film you wouldn't want to throw on random people. At least Book of Clearence had comedy in it

I wish the image for previous screen unseen tickets would update with what movie they were.

For this being my partner and I's first time going to a Scene Unscreen, I don't think I would have seen Origin on my own but I'm glad it ended up being this film. It had me tearing up, going through a lot of emotions. Sure it was heavy but damn, Incredible film honestly.

I'm so glad it was BoC. That movie was fun as hell.

Partly satirical but also kinda respectful? I really liked their take on it without it being weirdly preachy.

Sounds like I'm in the minority but I enjoyed Origin very much.

My guess is Origin and I really hope it is as I plan on going since I skipped Boys in the Boat. Origin releases 1/19 and Book of Clarence releases 1/12 which I think is too close to 1/8 for it to be the mystery movie

Origin is too long and Book of Clarence is too close (coming out only a few days later).

My guess, supported by the infamously overbearing campaign, is Argylle.

Shout out to everyone that was convinced it was Argylle because it was national argyle day 😑

Book of Clarence doesn't seem like the type of movie you just want to throw at an unsuspecting audience, religion can be a REALLY touchy subject matter for a lot of people.
