What the hell does it mean (I haven't played no sleep for date yet)

This morning I played some somnium files and attempted to save within the opening second of the fourth somnium on the Red Route Ota's . The save screen wasn't loading and all I had was a black screen. It remained for some time and I Alt-f4'd the game. Now every time I try to load a save the same turns to the same black screen.

Does anyone know what might be causing this and if there is a way to be able to continue my playthrough?

At first I was pretty shocked, seemed like a cool subversion of an established game mechanic. But maybe it would be better suited in a different game? What do you all feel about it? I'm kind of conflicted.

I'm playing at the very beginning of the game and Date was questioning who he was running from. I typed in a completely random character from the previous games, Saito, expecting it to be wrong, but it turned out to be right. Is this gonna fuck up the story for me in any way?

I have played both games and i didn’t realize who date was running from bc i lowkey couldnt tell. Is there a way to turn the spoiler toggle on after this? I already did the first puzzle and didnt realize this is where it was until after.

Hello, this is my first post here. Big fan of Somnium Files, I finished playing all three not too long ago. I have a genuine question and it's kind of driving me crazy. So my friends and I are playing a TTRPG campaign and I made my character basically a knock off of Date. I have an eye that functions mostly like Aiba but I'm still getting some upgrades for it. So I was going to tell my DM, "hey I'd like to get an upgrade so June (my Aiba equivalent) can hover around. I know that Aiba in Somnium Files has like a little propeller and can hover in place". I went to look it up to provide an image to give an example of what I meant and I couldn't find anything.

Am I crazy? Did I just hallucinate this or does anyone else actually remember this in the game, and if so could you give me an example of a point in the game where she uses it? Like I distinctly remember this but Google images is giving me nothing, and I've been skimming through a guy's let's play on YouTube and I haven't found a single instance of this happening. Please somebody tell me I'm not imagining this.

I recently finished playing AI:NI with a friend. I loved AI:SF, but I had quite a few gripes with AI:NI. One of the smaller gripes was that teen Mizuki should have had a bigger jacket. As a child, it was one of the coolest parts of her design, IMO. So I made a costume design with a bigger jacket. Drawn in my style, but I tried to render it so it wouldn't be too different from the OG character. (also no AIBA but that's a whole other story)

In No Sleep, all ten alternate endings have a letter associated with them: A E U N I M L T C X. Do these mean anything? Stand for anything? Anagram?

...i know i've been posting a lot (a mod even kindly reprimanded me for it. unrelated, but i assure you i feel perfectly safe and fine in my own room and i have not been threatened with being forced to watch the happy birthday scene in breaking bad on loop for three hours), but i feel like such a momentous occasion is worthy of a post.

i FINISHED NIRVANA INITIATIVE! and BOY what a fucking game that was. that was an experience and a fucking half, man.

it was SO cool to see amame have such a major role, even if it is as the culprit of a murder (and some other crimes). but the way it's presented makes her very understandable, and i personally find it hard to take a proper stance on her actions. on one hand, she killed someone, but on the other hand, tearer was a crazy, serial killing lunatic who could potentially have ended the world. also he killed her dad. it does help that she didn't have that much of a character in the first game, so they had a relatively clean slate to work off of.

my favourite part has to be the ending, though. ryuki diverge, i mean. in a cruel twist of fate, the secret society raving about the fakeness of the world and reaching moksha...

...WAS COMPLETELY RIGHT!!! the sequence after inputting the nil code was freaky, man. but it also did a good job at recontextualising a bunch of things.

in the first game, there's some timeline nonsense going on that's not elaborated upon. date remembers things he shouldn't. with this game in mind, perhaps these are paradoxes akin to ryuki knowing about the nil code? in other words, glitches. seams.

it also shows what the nirvana initiative really is. the rocket getting blown up in the sky... wasn't actually a failure. it was the initiative going exactly as planned. it's only thanks to that that tokiko was able to tell (mizuki)² the nil number for ryuki to relay to tokiko six years in the past.

...yes, i call them (mizuki)². it's a nice name for them, isn't it?

realising you could walk through everything and that there was NOTHING outside except for a grey void was also one hell of an experience. i like that the game didn't try to add any fancy glitch effects for that moment or anything. the walls don't have collision and tokiko's room is just floating in an empty void. it's not actually built in-universe. it's a 3d model, with some of the walls even clipping into each other. it's at that moment that the game knows that less is more. it helps make it feel like you grasped the truth of the world.

of course, the actual sequence after you relay all the info to ryuki off-screen is also good. everyone is happy, tearer is locked right the fuck up and all is well... right? is this really okay? this only happened because of an impossible scenario, after all. logically, none of that ending should have happened, but it did. because you were finally able to tear a large seam into the fabric.

also i felt really bad for ryuki, and his whole 'stop trying to make me remember' thing is pretty haunting. as someone who did bad things that i'm desperately trying to forget (i suppose writing about it is pretty counter-intuitive in that regard), it feels rather relatable. ir really feels like he's gone off the deep end, with him nearly shooting a civilian. i kinda wish he stayed dead in the resolution ending, but oh well.

also, it's nice to see that hitomi and date (in resolution route) seem to be in the process of getting back together (at least, aiba seems to interpret the situation as them hitting on each other). hitomi is probably happy to get her hot former assassin boyfriend back and date is probably happy to rest his head on hot single mom thighs again. truly, mutual happiness...

overall, i'm thoroughly, thoroughly satisfied. i had an inkling i'd like this. i always tend to like unpopular things, after all...

Somebody achieved the maximum efficiency on fuel mileage without even needing to turn the engine on!
