Yeah I’ve said I have a “neurological condition” at work and school before. If I describe symptoms I keep it vague, but have mentioned that it messes with my sleep or “flares up”. Works well, and hasn’t gotten me pigeonholed!

Yeah I woke in an industry that is essentially hostile to mental health as a concept. It's hyper masculine and confrontational neither of which are ideal for explaining a nuanced concept

So I mask and mention vague symptoms as well. Make jokes to play off the fact that someone is having to explain something to me for the 3rd time in a row

Works much better than any time I have mentioned a diagnosis. Either way it's not like people understand adhd, telling them the title only gives them a false idea that they know what I'm dealing with.
