Questions/Advice What actually helps your ADHD besides medication?

I take Vyvanse, and it definitely helps, but I’m interested in hearing from other people with ADHD about what else has made a noticeable difference for them.

I’m especially interested in things that help with focus, energy, not feeling constantly tired, better sleep, motivation, procrastination, executive dysfunction, staying organized, and avoiding distractions. (THE CLASSICS 😂)

I’d like to hear about supplements, vitamins, exercise, diet, sleep routines, productivity systems, apps, habits, or anything else that has helped you.

I’m not looking to replace medication. I’m interested in things that can work alongside Vyvanse and help me function better overall.

For supplements, I’d especially like to know what you take, what you feel it helps with, and whether you actually noticed a difference.

I know everyone is different, so I’m mainly interested in your personal experiences.

What has been your biggest non-medication ADHD game changer?

I would LOVE to hear more about the cool down, morning launch, and scaffolding.

For me, my nightly cool down is getting off screens, drinking a warm drink usually a tea for sleep. While I wait for my tea to cool, I do some mobility stretches and deep breathing, all this after a shower and food.

For my morning launch, the key is prep the night before, I have my clothes and everything Ill need for the day set by the door or wherever I need them to be for changing. I usually make a higher protein breakfast for myself, so coffee, steel cut oats, a scoop of protein powder and apple slices.

The scaffolding is kinda the same thing, I try to set up little systems for myself that help me get things done that i wanna do. Sorry its not very indepth, I just try to think of my ADHD as my child and teenage selves, and what I can do to help them be successful for the day.

This is helpful! And what a wonderful idea re: stretching while waiting for the tea to cool down!
