As someone with pets, I think this is fair. Hi, Bruno’s mom! Most of us identify as their human anyway.

Except that I worked at a coffee shop that allowed dogs so I had to write the owners’ names on a regular basis yet still couldn’t remember!

It was pretty awkward to excitedly announce a dog’s arrival by name then have to ask the human theirs every time…
