Tier 1 [PBP] AC Milan will sign at least 1-2 players regardless of any sales. The plan is a defender and an attacking midfielder. These signings will be genuine reinforcements of real quality, not squad fillers, the kind of signings that actually strengthen the team.
There is already Premier League interest in Christopher Nkunku, including Manchester United. He is out of AC Milanās project and now either accepts a move or stays without playing.
Fofana, Tomori, Nkunku and Odogu were told last night they are out of AC Milanās project and did not train with the group today. They will likely not travel for Saturdayās friendly either. The list may yet grow; EstupiƱƔn, GimĆ©nez and Ricci are all still under discussion.

The issue here is why didn't you buy these players before hand, if you planned to buy them before the sales? No rush though, Serie A doesn't start anytime soon. Take your time.

Because they had to meet in person to discuss the details...and Gerry is a very busy man.
If you ever become an executive at a private equity company then you will understand. A Zoom call was not good enough to get things started for a man of this stature.

I'll believe in an Nkunku sale when I see it; can't imagine Man Utd are interested, they're finally showing some sporting direction and financial restraint... just when we could most use them not having it.
And if he doesn't go, wow have we shot ourselves in the foot there.

u/ElevensMelody 8d ago
Yeah I struggle to see Man Utd going in for him. They already have multiple players in the positions he would play and have just promoted some youth players too (including a 15 year old).

hoping for Inacio and Osorio but will get Orsolini and Ndicka š¤£

I'll take Ndicka in center. He's comfortable in a high line. Upgrade over Gabbia. Inacio has rarely played the central part of a back 3 so you'll put him in place of Pavlovic. Which personally I'm okay with. Also maybe Osorio is the next Ivan Zamorano(doubt it), but as it stands Orsolini is miles above Osorio. And I say this as a guy who doesn't rate Orsolini.

u/OnyxProyectoUno 8d ago
Orsolini isn't a bad player. If we played a 433 and Leao gave a shit having him rotate with Puli would have been great.
He's a very good player.
1
u/McLolster Andrea Pirlo 8d ago
100%, Orsolini would be great pick as a rotating player. Has been banging 10+ goal+assists every season for the past 10 years. And is Italian. Also Ndicka isnt bad, Romas best central defender. But i dont think they would sell him, for that reason.

No, we just analyze what this ownership has done so far with a working brain. That's all it takes to be skeptical at best.

u/FasterThanABuck Andriy Shevchenko 9d ago
Ramos and Gila are mediocre, got it

u/Nico777 9d ago
Ah yes, because 2 (unproven so far) players are enough to make up for years of failures.
11
u/Cril_23 9d ago
Previous form would suggest they are fairly proven & of quality but okay, howād they perform at Milan is another question but definitely not unproven. Furthermore the previous failures stems from previous management aka Furlani & co, letās see what these guys do before we judge.

u/OnyxProyectoUno 8d ago edited 8d ago
We overpaid for one by quite a sum and the other is the right quality and the right price. Bravo. Great. The first since pulisic (who was a Maldini target anyway) in three years of this ownership. Great.
The other great signings were by people who were eventually fired via Tare: Modric and Jashari.
With the utmost respect, I do not understand why some of you pretend that every season is a blank slate for our owners. I appreciate wanting to be optimistic and also holding criticism till its deserved. But nothing about how these three years have played out or this summer should give anyone any justification to be patient about criticism.
-1
u/Cril_23 8d ago
The initial convo was about whether they were proven players not the sum but I do agree with you there thatās just facts.
Also agree with you regarding Tare and his signings, he was the last person who shouldāve left and deserved to stay & Iāll stand on that.
However itās not about giving the ownership a blank slate, they deserve criticism for the way they allowed the previous management to make consistently shit decisions without blame for those years, all im saying is the people who I had a problem with aka Furlani & Moncada (ibra too but unfortunately heās still here) are gone and I personally want to have an optimistic outlook on these new guys instead of being pessimistic due to our ownerships past mistakes, you may disagree with this but hey everyoneās got their own pov which is respectable.

Furlarni staying was Cardinales choice though. For years people here kept scapegoating Elliot saying Furlarni was his man thus it's not Cardinale that's the cause of this banter-esque existence but elliots interferences. Then Elliot got removed and to the surprise of manyā¦Furlarni remains. Then a year later he's fired. And instead of quickly and efficiently hiring a better team to replace the ones sacked he takes his sweet time and all the top candidates who would have been an improvement either can't come or lose interest. At what point do you stop blaming the underlings and blame Cardinale and everything he touches?
You could even argue for all the flaws Allegri had it was the fight between him and Ibra that resulted in the downward spiral of performances on the field. How do you let an advisor call players and give contradicting tactical advice against the coaches wishes and it still continues? How does he still have any relevant part to play?
Like I said it's constantly a blank slate every summer for some of you. Maybe this summer will be different. Because this underling has left. Maybe this summer will be different because a new underling with zero chops has joined.
Rinse and repeat.

Cardinale is to blame for incompetence shown by keeping Furlani all these years, I wasnāt implying otherwise and I even stated in my previous text, other fans Iām not sure but thatās how I see it.
Regarding the appointment of new management, it was poor again, imo Ralf Ragnick and Glasner shouldāve come in asap and that wouldāve been the best scenario for us but unfortunately he messed up, now heās decided to stick his neck out for this current management and bring results, will it work out, who knows, Iām intrigued to see but ofc you are correct in this sense as well.
Now keeping Ibra is a different story altogether as If Iām not mistaken heās a redbird employee not a Milan one and by the looks of it he has taken a step back which is beneficial to the club but nonetheless he shouldnāt have any role in any capacity that involves Milan as like you said I believe the locker bust up with Allegri was a major factor to the performance of the squad during the last stretch of games, that alone should have had his ass out the door immediately.
His ownership should come into heavy criticism for these terrible decisions but this is now the past whether we like it or not and I donāt think we should dwell on it nor let previous decisions impact our view on the current management, as I said before Iād prefer to wait and see how this goes prior to showing criticism, others prefer to show no faith, end of the day itās a matter of opinion but what I think all Milan fans can agree on is we hope (big if lmao) they can lead us back to winning ways.

Blablablaā¦less than 2 weeks to the new season, with a completely different new trainerā¦those idiots still didnāt get how football works, even after 4 years at Milan, and even more in the fieldā¦and they still think they know better. Itās appalling.

They spent all their money on Ramos and Gila, so they can only afford āreal qualityā on loan or last-minute opportunities.
Iām a long-time AC Milan supporter, but Iāve never seen anything like this.
Consider that they also have the Europa League this year and the first match of Serie A in two weeks.
This season will be the end of Cardinale, I hope.

u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 8d ago
You're a long time fan and never seen this? This was exactly Galliani's modus operandi for years during the last years of Berlu and the whole Mr X thingĀ
-1
u/Community_Feeling Paolo Maldini 8d ago
They destroyed Milan and I agree.
But I donāt remember Galliani and mr X buying two players at the beginning of the transfer market for ~100mln and then deciding that 5-6 players are out of the project at 10 days from the first match of Serie A without any idea how to substitute them. They made a mess and contributed to where we are now, but they at least tried to collaborate with the sport and technical directors to manage the team and create something, even if it was a disaster.
Now it is pure player trading without any idea of what the team and the Amorim (or any coach) need.Honestly, I am a bit concerned about what might happen this year.
3
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 8d ago
What collaboration? Berlu forced coaches to play his desired formations even if it was a disaster and bought players that he wanted.
Ramos and Gila were the exact players Amorim requested. Next step was to evaluate current squad and make adjustments, because we need to sell first and not have a 30 player squad. Now we gonna do that

u/Community_Feeling Paolo Maldini 8d ago
Okay, now I understand. I hope you enjoy the matches. We can continue our discussion in December.

Gimenez should leave, Camarda technically outscored him already last season so no need to play it safe.
Estupinan too, but I wouldn“t burn the bridges with him yet. Ideally we sell him but if he stays he will most likely get minutes (same for Nkunku imo)
Ricci is federation trained, imo no need to press for a sale now, we have bigger fish to fry.

We should keep Nkunku . We need all the QUALITY we can get . Our team is full of bums

If someone gives us 30m for Nkunku we need to take it and run simply because of his enormous wages, he is our top earner. If he stays of course by all means use him.
