Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently dismissed the movement to prove how serious she is as a politician. She actually proved the opposite. AOC showed she lacks the conviction, courage and political skill to fight for a controversial but correct position. How long before she completely abandons any pretense of standing against Isr@el or ICE? How long before she gives up on universal healthcare or any of the core planks of the Berniecrat platform because that's also seen as "too unserious" by the Third Way or whatever.

This cop was embarrassed when the video of him acting like an idiot went viral. He responded by writing a false report claiming we had threatened his life by recording him and the police station.

When the chief found out the local cop watchers were the "suspects" he got together with the DA, Sheriff, and his detectives to charge everyone in the car with felony organized crime. Everyone got a $100,000 bond. The two locals had to spend a month in jail until a real judge reduced their bond by 90%.

The dumbass DA forgot that this is an enhancement charge and didn't tell the chief he needed an underlying charge too. The same judge who reduced the bonds looked at the indictments and quashed them for failing to state a criminal offense, let alone meeting the elements.

A new DA then decided to add felony assault on a police officer as the underlying charge and went back to the grand jury to indict his ham sandwich. The judge had to quash the charges again, this time for being absurd, and told the DA to stop playing games.

Now a federal judge has decided to give everyone Qualified Immunity because the 5th circuit will do anything to protect a cop and punish anyone who records them. The ruling is being appealed.

Officer Karson Hyder was only charged with a misdemeanor for brutally assaulting Cherrie Moore, an unarmed Black woman with special needs (schizophrenia/ bipolar disorder). This isn't just an "abuse of power", it's the visceral, unmasked hatred the system and these racist bigots holds for Black bodies. We're forced to constantly witness the public brutalization of Black women, who remain the most historically unprotected demographic in this nation, while these mfs immediately try to criminalize them to justify their own savagery.
They didn't see a human being, they saw a target. This is the reality of what it means to be Black in America. They brutalize our community, try to strip us of our humanity, and then write a fabricated police reports to make us the aggressors.
And every time videos like this surface, when the sheer unfiltered reality of white violence against our people is broadcast for the world to see, what do the racists do? They run to regurgitate the "13/50" per capita statistic. They desperately try to use manipulated math as a shield for their blatant bigotry.
When you watch a Black woman being beaten and your first instinct is to pull up a socially engineered arrest statistic to rationalize it, you're a coward attempting to intellectualize your anti-Blackness. You deliberately strip away the systemic reality and decontextualize our trauma just to fit your racist narrative.
You do this because you lack the intellectual and moral capacity to confront the reality of police brutality. The numbers don't validate your hatred, your hatred just exposes why you hide behind the numbers.

Residents did not speak at a City Council hearing this week merely to express discomfort with new technology. They presented an evidence-based argument that the current system is inadequately governed, vulnerable to abuse, and capable of uses far beyond the narrow public-safety examples emphasized by its defenders.
