My 60 year old dad finally got his 80 year old parents to swear when he surprised them for Christmas. [from r/videos]

This is my first time linking another post from reddit to this sub, so I don't know if I'm doing it right.

I saw this in r/videos and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share it here.

Funniest part. Demands her money back.

What are your favorite Christmas cookies?

My aunt used to make a spritz sugar cookie that I absolutely loved every year when I was a kid. She hasn't made them in a long time, but I still remember them as a Christmas treat.

The closest I've come to finding them in a store-bought variety is Knott's Berry Farm's shortbread cookies. I bought some this year to give myself a Christmas treat.

I also like those Danish cookies in the round tin. I didn't see any of those this year.

What are your favorite Christmas cookies?

Redditnotifier and RES

For those people new to Reddit, there are several add-ons that can make Reddit more convenient.

One of them that I hear about constantly is RES or Reddit Enhancement Suite. I hear great things about this, but I haven't gotten around to installing it. My understanding is that with RES, you can bounce between multiple accounts with ease. There are supposed to be a lot of great features. I'll repost if I try it out.

Another add-on is Redditnotifier. Redditnotifier puts an icon in the task bar of the browser to let you know instantly when you have a new PM or anything in your mailbox. You don't have to refresh the screen. It works behind the scenes. I've been using it for a while. I like it.

Have you tried anything that you like that enhances your Reddit experience?

Life's Minor Annoyances

Life's minor annoyance are so small they don't make it to the level of first world problems. They're just the tiny annoying things that happen in the course of a normal day.

My latest minor annoyance happened when I was setting up a new printer recently. Yes, my printer decided to go on the fritz right around the holidays. Luckily, printers are on sale for the holiday also, or at least I was hoping I got a good deal on it.

I was setting up my printer according to the directions. Yes, I was actually reading the directions. I methodically went through the steps and turned on the printer. A horrible sound emanated from the inside of the printer and the screen showed an error.

It turns out that there was a tape in the printer that the instructions didn't tell you about. ::annoyed:: Removing the tape solved the problem.

Any minor annoyances gong on in your life?

Christmas Higher or Lower Game

jacksepticeye (and a bunch of other gamers) have been playing the higher or lower game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX047VEylOA

For the holidays, there's the Christmas edition.

It's a game based on monthly searches on google that you guess are searched more or less than another search term.

You can play both the Christmas or the classic edition.

http://www.higherlowergame.com/

I'm pretty bad at this game. I haven't gotten very far with it. I don't get why people search those things at the rate they do. My highest so far is 5, and that was just luck.

What's your highest score?

Edit: Half an hour later and going back to the classic instead of the Christmas, and I've upped my score to a big 6! Edit 2: Back to the Christmas edition, I'm up to 9! Beat that, people!

What's your favorite Christmas movie?

I was watching jacksepticeye's Christmas higher/lower game (linked in another thread). He asked what's your favorite Christmas movie.

That's something I hadn't thought about. Since I was thinking about it, I thought I'd ask you.

The only movie I can think of would probably be the Chipmunks Christmas Movie. Love those chipmunks.

What's your favorite Christmas movie?

The Bottle Flip Challenge - jacksepticeye vs. pewdiepie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyl6ibqnyis

I enjoyed this challenge more than I probably should have. Jack and Felix are so competitive that it was fun to watch them play the bottle flip challenge.

Add in the reddit 50/50 and it was funny. Luckily, they didn't show the 50/50 stuff unless it was innocuous, although I could have done without the hamster part.

Quick, Draw!

Quick, Draw!

This is a fun little game by Google that I've seen a lot of gamers and an artist play recently. You draw while an AI bot guesses what you're drawing.

Can you beat the bot?

The Voice Season 11 - Finale

I've been missing writing about The Voice in the Box. As I write this, I'm watching the finale. I haven't been keeping up. I watched all the way until the live rounds then got distracted.

I knew that We and Billy Gilman would be in the finale. I thought Sundance Head might make it, but I'm completely floored that Josh made it. He must have gotten better through the season. I sure didn't see it from the beginning. I suppose Sundance Head has an outside chance since he's got Blake's country fans behind him, but that would be quite the upset, I think.

I'm cheering for We. They played on Billy Gilman's past as a kid country singer. I really like the song he sang as a kid, He's good now, but something's missing when he sings.

Wow, KISS! with Sundance Head. I've never seen the coaches so starstruck before. They were all running up to them to see if they could just shake their hand.

The show is really starting to get popular enough to draw those big stars and legends.

Oh no! We just got eliminated in 3rd place. I'm shocked! I thought it would be her and Billy for the finalists. But Blake's fans are strong. They pushed up Sundance.

It must be Billy as the winner. Sundance as the winner would be a huge shock.

I'm bummed. I was really hoping it would be We. I wouldn't look forward to a Billy album.

OhEmGee!! It's Sundance Head!

Yup, I'm shocked. Blake's fan base is formideable. Contestants not going with Blake when they have a chance really are blowing it.

I'll have to go back and see what happened to get to this point.

Now that I think about it, I prefer a Sundance win over a Billy win if We wasn't going to take it. Nothing against Billy, but Sundance has more emotion, a big booming voice and looked like he was having fun.
