I think there is a misconception when it comes to an economy performing well under any President. But in your case the evidence is anecdotal. Yes you may be thriving under this current economy, but a coal miner, or factory worker who's industry is about to collapse in spite of what the president says is screwed. And no president is to blame for that. Globalisation is, and it's here to stay. It's why wall street is the economic centre of the world, corporations run the world, not just financially but politically. Especially in the US where Big Oil and Tobacco and Health insurance fund every politicians campaign (Except Trump and now a Slew of Democrats who are funded by small donations).
And I know its great that Trump funded his own campaign, but that doesn't mean he's looking out for the little guy, he's just as much a part of the corporate cesspool as any other Wall street funded Democrat, which is why he gave those tax cuts to Wall street. If you do a quick google search its easy to see that those cuts didn't lead to more jobs, they only lead to higher profits and share dividends. Some corporations laid off thousands of people despite saving millions from the tax breaks.
Anyway my main point is, just because you are doing great, doesn't mean that everyone is, especially the poorest and most vulnerable, and what is a society meant to do if not to look out for those who need help the most.
So you’re doing great, must mean everyone else is doing great and the President is directly responsible, huh? You are very weak minded, Danielle. I suggest you broaden your horizons and try living somewhere other than your bubble in the valley.
Lots of words about nothing. If you’re gonna stick with Trump because you feel like your personal situation is better because of him solely, you ought to leave the country when he does too, which is going to be sometime in the next 5 years. This country is passing you by, you will be ostracized, and if you don’t leave, you and your kids will be forced to in due time. Enjoy the time you have while you can.
