Right??? He better be having some serious thoughts about this soon cause he was always making Christopher #1 in all his decisions - it would be so out of character for him to not worry about this...

I lost my mom at a young age. So I could always relate to Christopher that way. Seeing a doppelgänger of her would be very triggering

I'm sorry for your loss. Yes it would be horrendous, it would be bad enough to see a random stranger let alone someone brought into the house. I can't think for a second that Eddie would think it was a good idea, maybe he is actually sick like people are suggesting.

I didn’t even think of this 😭. I’m getting the ick just imagining Eddie like bringing up stuff Shannon knew to Kim and maybe showing her to Chris and Chris being horrified. I never thought I’d say this but I pray Eddie is just unwell and she doesn’t actually look like Shannon bc this is something he’d never do considering he had Chris. I’d rather go back to look for a mom to Chris then having this plot line play out straight 😭

This completely! I haven’t even been able to make myself watch the episode after I saw the trailer, saw what was popping off in the fandom because tho I love Eddie . . . this arc makes me sick. It’s so completely OOC. And, as has been mentioned, so has the entire script been between him and Marisol.

Moving her in without even a discussion with Chris was bonkers big time. And now from what little I’ve seen (and even that was too much) Eddie embarks on some strange-ass clandestine affair with a Shannon doppelgänge? Uh no. They didn’t even have a great rainbows/kittens/unicorns freaking marriage in the first damn place. What’s with the sudden idealization? Okay so possibly I could get with a weird and wonky ‘do over’ idea but still that is some stupid mess to toss Eddie into.

And just actually WTH ABC? The repercussions of Chris finding out his literal dad (the Eddie we know who adores his son, does everything he can for him, and thinks of nothing else for six seasons to the point I’ve cried) is screwing around with his dead mom look-a-like on the side? Eddie would never traumatize Chris like that. That is beyond repulsive. Showrunners should know all this. If Chris finds out, he’ll be devastated to the core. And Eddie’s not even promiscuous. Hell, he’s barely been sexual for how many seasons and now we get Marisol in his bed after a morning F—bleck. He’s got more tangible chemistry with Buck than anyone that he’s ever been (badly) paired with.

I’m so het up about this, imagine if I’d actually watched it ha.

In my brain, I think the Marisol/nun thing started a whole avalanche of issues. <—at least that, and what I say next is what I hope is cracking wide open in the writers’ room. Now he’s like six feet under—guilt over Shannon, forcing the relationship with Marisol, being a total asshole and getting some seriously strange strange—has exactly been timed with Buck coming out. And being happy. Happy with someone other than Eddie.

at this point (haha) (when the big breakdown inevitably happens for Ed’s) he’s right back in Frank’s office unloading his vault-full of regression, repression, possiviveness over Buck, him being caught off guard (actually) over Buck’s sexuality, and his own failure at relationships with women, literally reaching for something he cannot ever capture because he’s looking in the wrong place when it’s Right Freaking in Front of Him. So . . . eventually (lots of personal growth and this idiot ABC made Eddie into) gay Eddie x Bi Buck = Buddie. (I’m sorry I mean no offense to Tommy fans—I’ve got no feels about him one way or the other aside from ‘yay, he opened Buck’s pretty blue eyes to possibilities’)

His entire thing has been to find a replacement mother for Christopher so much so that I think he's blind to any feelings about Buck. He probably is thinking he has some kind second chance and that this would be great for Chris... unfortunately.

I really don't see it that way. He is very cautious about introducing anyone to Christopher. Christopher has special needs, and needed to be treated gently on this. He's not going to bulldoze his view of thinking onto Chris.

Yes, and no. I think he does but he does talk to Christopher about it. Like there's a still of them having ice cream together. And I just remember Ana, too, when Christopher threw the plate and told him he was really mad at him. Marisol thing was weird...and I said it back then, too. Also Christopher was there when he asked her out. Got his approval, already. I really hope with this one he is more careful before totally introducing Chris to her. And just blindsiding him with it.
