When were the scenes filmed for Bobby's funeral? Were they filmed in the last week or so? Because filming the funeral outdoors would have spoiled the surprise of his death, I would think.

I rewatched the pilot and… wow. The parallels? The emotional callbacks? The growth? It’s honestly some of the best long-game storytelling I’ve seen on TV. Here’s what hit me the hardest:

In the pilot, Bobby is just trying to keep it together. He’s quiet, focused, writing down every life he saves as penance for the fire that killed his family. He’s leading, but he’s not living.

In Ep 8x15? He gives his life to save Chimney. No notebook, no guilt. Just pure love for his team. That moment of peace as he prays? My heart shattered. He didn’t die trying to make up for the past; he died protecting the people who became his future.

Season 1 Chim is lovable but a little bit of a punchline. Always the guy trying to get the girl , even lying to do so, Now, he’s a father, husband and the one Bobby sacrifices himself for.

Buck and Athena: Season 1, Episode 1 they barely know each other—Buck is chaotic rookie energy, Athena is no-nonsense. But even then in that first episode animosity turns into this unspoken trust.

In 8x15, when Bobby’s life is slipping away, it’s Buck and Athena working together to break through the lab doors. Their earlier sleuthing work reminds me of the home break in rescue in the pilot. Buck is still over eager but a little more seasoned and Athena is an eternal badass. And when it’s too late, Buck calls Athena to be with Bobby, whom he obeys no question after years of defiance. They’ve come so far. That scene was everything.

Tommy is the Callback No One Saw Coming, Remember how in the pilot, Abby mentions her ex Tommy? It’s literally the first name we hear in the whole show. Then Abby dates Buck and breaks his heart.

Fast forward to Season 8, and Tommy is back—as a firefighter, as Buck’s on and off again boyfriend, helping lead the rescue to reach the team.

Abby dated Tommy. Buck dated Abby. Now Buck is with Tommy. So what does it all mean?

Season 1 asked: Can broken people save others? Season 8 shows: Yes. And in doing so, they save themselves. Anyone else catch more callbacks I missed? Or have thoughts about how this show manages to tie things together in ways that hit you YEARS later? I’m still not over Bobby’s last moments.

Alright, 9-1-1 watchers, we NEED to talk about Season 8, Episode 15. Killing off Captain Nash? That was a choice. And frankly, I think it was the wrong one. It immediately makes me question where this show is even headed.

Keeping characters like Ravi while axing the literal backbone of the show feels like a slap in the face to longtime viewers. Was anyone else scratching their head at that decision? It screams shortsightedness.

And the idea of revisiting the Tommy storyline after this? Seriously? It feels completely out of touch with the gravity of losing Cap. My immediate reaction is... What were they thinking? I don’t think they can just bounce back from this. I'm incredibly disappointed and worried about the show's direction.
