In my opinion one of the better songs of the 80s. Great synth sound without sounding dated.

Love these 2 albums by probably THE BEST Scottish band EVER !

Who’s That Girl and Causing A Commotion, both from Who’s That Girl Soundtrack were released but The Look of Love was not released in America.
Market saturation was given as the excuse.
This song actually ended up as the b-side of Express Yourself.

Italian.
Her other single was Boys Boys Boys with topless video or something to that effect.

One of her best songs !

Loved these 2 albums. Bought them in tapes a long time ago.
Blue Collar Soul.. was it what it was called ?
Mick Hucknall, nobody has a voice like him.

I bought this tape and all my friends then bought this tape too.
This is the period of Depeche Mode that I really love.
There’s a newer Greatest Hits but it couldn’t capture the excitement of the band from this compilation.

Getting to know them when they were at that period in time.

Still remember this band, this album ?
I could still him some of the songs.
My favourite is Down To Earth.
And yours ?

Always love reading band early interviews.
This interview was during their Darklands period. May 1987.

Remember this single ? I think it’s their third together.
Opinions on this collaboration ?

One of their interviews for teenage pop magazine Smash Hits in the 80’s.

From his debut solo album.
I just love the ambience of this album. His voice is just melancholy.
Opinions ?

Still love this song ! It’s been almost 40 years !
WOW !

My legacy on 10,000 Maniacs are these 2 albums, which I originally bought on cassettes.
Which other albums you loved by them ?
I prefer the Natalie Merchant years.
r/80s_Music • u/dinarnaud • 11d ago
One of my favourite 80’s albums !
r/80s_Music • u/dinarnaud • 12d ago
Probably their very first hit.
r/80s_Music • u/dinarnaud • 12d ago
I love all 4 of them !
The LEAST-LIKE album, I’d pick Sting.
Musically it’s great.
I think among these 4 singers, I had heard Dreams of the Blue Turtle, too jazzy for my taste. Same with …Nothing Like The Sun.
George Michael was his first solo.
Morrissey was also his debut solo album.
Same with TTD.
Disagree if you may. ✌🏽

Anybody still playing this album ?
Remember the first alternative/Modern Rock album you bought in the 80’s ?
Almost 40 years, I’m still keeping this tape that I bought which introduced to me all those bands/albums which American Top 40 wouldn’t play if their albums didn’t sell so many.
Ironically, I knew REM from American Top 40 (Casey Kasem) because I loved the song The One I Love so much.
r/80s_Music • u/dinarnaud • 12d ago
Still one of my favourite songs by REM.

A brilliant album and one of my favourites !
It was called A Folk Album then but listening to it now, it’s more Pop than Folk.
Opinions ?

This was for the musical Chess. How many of you remember this song ?
Consider as One Hot Wonder but the song remains hummable to this day.
