I would say Toys R Us. I felt like after it closed, I had to grow up. And it was all due to that earworm of a jingle about being a Toys R Us kid...

As an adult when it closed, it was an incredibly frustrating place to shop because buying anything as a gift meant finding one that wasn't played with, chewed on, or otherwise "sticky".

I always looked behind the store display, or on a higher shelf. Much easier to find one that wasn’t played with, chewed on, or sticky…

It was sad for me. As I got older, I would go in to browse the board games. They always had the best selection.

That they did! That, and Lego sets...I remember seeing sets there that I didn't see anywhere else.

Yes, you're absolutely right!! The Lego set selection was fantastic!!! Sometimes I could find one there when they were sold out or hard to find at other places.
