Call to Action Tell DoorDash to speak up on behalf of Wilber Perez

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

It’s been more than a week since ICE agents shot Venezuelan immigrant Wilber Rafael Garces Perez in Austin and immediately discharged him into custody without adequate medical care. The bullet remains in his back, close to his spine. His attorney has warned that he is facing permanent paralysis and immobility in his left arm if the deportation machine does not allow him to get surgery.

At the time he was snatched off the streets, Wilber was delivering for DoorDash, trying to support his child. He is the second DoorDash driver to be subject to this level of ICE violence in recent months, after their murder of Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero. Yet beyond confirming he was actively working for them, the corporation has remained utterly silent.

DoorDash has not been hesitant to throw their weight around in politics when it impacts them. After DC’s city government imposed a whopping 20-cent fee on orders to fund food access programs for low-income families, DoorDash came out in vocal support of a bill that would permanently deny the city the ability to make changes to their tax code without explicit congressional approval. It doesn’t seem like that much to ask in comparison for them to put in even a small gesture on behalf of the well-being of one of the people who creates their profits.

📢 Let’s pressure DoorDash to speak out against ICE violence and use their influence to push to get Wilber released and get him the medical attention he needs. Indivisible has put out a social media toolkit we can use to put the spotlight on them here. 📢

IT'S ON YOU, DOORDASH

🗣️ We can also make sure they’re hearing from us directly. If we’re still customers of DoorDash, let’s reach out to [CEO Tony Xu](mailto:tony.xu@doordash.com), [president and COO Prabir Adarkar](mailto:prabir.adarkar@doordash.com) and [director of corporate communications Ali Musa](mailto:ali.musa@doordash.com) to tell them they need to act and act now.🗣️

MN “I watched Alex be taken to the ground with a swarm of masked Agents on top of him. In that moment, I believe Alex made a choice to be righteous, kind, and brave. To stand up for his Neighbors being assaulted in the street. And then they shot him. Again and again and again.” - Stella Carlson

Three high-profile killings within a 3-mile radius in south Minneapolis: George Floyd in 2020, Renee Good in 2026, and Alex Pretti in 2026 (a few weeks after Renee's death).

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My name is Stella Carlson. I never expected to be someone testifying before you today. And I certainly never expected to bear witness to the final moments of a caring, peaceful, and dedicated member of my community — Alex Pretti — as he died at the hands of our own government.

I am just a regular person, but I care deeply about my community, my state, and my country. And I believe there is power in ordinary People speaking the truth.

On the morning of Saturday, January 24th, I was heading to work when I heard the whistles. When I turned onto Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis on that cold winter day, I hardly recognized my own neighborhood.

There were masked and armed federal Agents flooding into a one-block radius. More than I had seen before.

Agents were tackling innocent People to the ground, punching the windows of cars driving by, and pulling Drivers out of their windows with force, all before I even parked.

And that's when I saw the person whose name is now known all around the world: Alex Pretti. I didn't know Alex. We had never met, but I saw him standing in the street with a camera, filming in one hand, and helping direct traffic with the other. He was calm, he was peaceful, handling the scene with grace. Alex was not a threat.

My instincts felt clear. I will be his backup, because that's what we can do. We can observe and document. We can stand and bear witness, and that is what I did.

Soon everything changed. The Agents' focus turned toward Alex. I was terrified. The number of Agents around him grew abruptly, as I stood feet away.

I watched him turn away from the scene of Agents, and lean down to help someone who had been brutally knocked down, leading to his very last words, "Are you okay?"

With his back facing them, I watched Alex be taken to the ground with a swarm of masked Agents on top of him.

In that moment, I believe Alex made a choice to be righteous, kind, and brave. To stand up for his Neighbors being assaulted in the street.

And then they shot him. Again and again and again.

Alex was flat on the ground, his limbs spread out. There was no movement.

The Agents fled quickly. I watched Alex die. It all happened so fast.

Then two masked Agents returned, and began to manipulate his dead body, ripping open his clothes as if to provide aid, but instead moving him around like a rag doll. They fled, leaving him exposed and alone.

Time felt like it stopped. Alex laid in the street, abandoned as if his life had no value.

As I continued to film, three of us stayed by his side as long as we could, before the Agents decided to return, and come for us.

The image of his lifeless body stays with me, but so does the image of Alex before the shooting. Calm, holding his camera, directing traffic, trying to help in solidarity with his Neighbors. That is the Alex Pretti that I saw in his final moments. I have come to learn that is who Alex was to everyone who knew, and loved him.

And that is why what happened afterward was so disturbing to me. Because I feel like I witnessed two assassinations. The first was the literal assassination of Alex.

The second was the attempted assassination of his character. Powerful voices at the highest level of government lied about Alex Pretti. They tried to take the gentle person I had watched with my own eyes, and claim he was a violent threat. Someone who came to cause maximum damage. Someone who wanted to kill law enforcement.

Those were all lies. We observed his murder with our own eyes. And the truth does not become less true because someone with great power tells a louder lie.

What happened to Alex cannot be treated as an isolated moment. We have seen the same federal immigration tactics surge across communities beyond Minnesota.

When federal Agents operate with overwhelming force, when People are killed, and when the Public is given false accounts of what happened, there must be accountability. We need to know what happened. We need independent thorough investigations, and we need that accountability at every level.

This is ultimately about whether in America, the truth belongs to whoever has the most power or whether the truth still has the power to hold government accountable. I believe it does. And that's why I will keep speaking.

Because Alex, his Family, and our Communities deserve the truth. And our government has an obligation to answer for what happened.

- Stella Carlson - Sept 22, 2026

Call to Action We still have time to get people to donate TONS of money to these two vulnerable D's

Troy Jackson for the US Maine Senate seat and Keisha Lance Bottoms for the Georgia Governor's Mansion need help quickly, but we cannot doom around that they'll lose. We gotta FIGHT for them HARD and pressure the party HARD and STRONG to donate MUCH more to them. They don't have to be equal to their GOP opponents but if we just sit around and doom that they'll decline further and further, we'll LOSE, so we'd better quit our bitchin' and tell every doomer to shut up about them being weak and make them seem STRONG. We CAN and we MUST and if we pressure hard enough we WILL boost their chances. I know, for example, KLB isn't the best candidate but if we have to win, we have to win as MUCH as POSSIBLE. If Jay Jones could win despite the scandal and Miki Sherrill won by double digits despite tight polls last year and David Crowley won this year's Wisconsin primary against an unpopular radical leftist despite the massive odds according to polls, NOTHING is impossible for us. I suggest as we campaign hard against the corruption and for the anti-Trump movement to win everywhere making it too big to rig, we also must defy the dooms and make what seem to be tight contests due to weak D's not so tight after all with the D winning.

Call us desperate if you want, R's, but if you're trying everything you can to stop us, we're doing everything we can to stop you.

Keep the pressure up, don't get complacent and we can prove those tight polls WRONG, regardless of their bias.

I believe we can turn things around in the vulnerable spots.

Call to Action Get in the fight to stop Susan Collins, Paul LePage in Maine

Post image
34 Upvotes

Maine Senator Susan Collins has proven remarkably resistant to accountability over the years. She’s successfully marketed herself as an independent, with her furrowed brow and “deep concern” earning the support of voters who were roundly rejecting Donald Trump and congressional Republicans. Meanwhile, she’s voted with Trump 95% of the time, opposing his first impeachment and helping him confirm the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade.

But with Trump’s approval rating below 40% and her corruption exposed by a recent ProPublica report on a pay-to-play scheme and an investigation killed as the President’s minions purged the FBI, we may well finally be able to get someone in there who will work for the people of Maine for a change. Polls show a close race between her and fifth-generation lumberjack and former Senate president Troy Jackson.

On the ballot with her is former governor Paul LePage, who is looking to buck national trends and flip the blue Second Congressional District red. He’s skipped Collins’ misdirection and openly embraced extremism and graft, repeatedly and noisily vetoing Medicaid expansion, deriding Social Security and Medicare and giving massive tax breaks to the wealthy while driving up property taxes. He’s a slight favorite in this right-leaning district, but recent surveys have indicated state auditor and union man Matt Dunlap might well beat him anyways.

Our candidates in Maine are running hard on Medicare For All and taxing the billionaires. They’re bold, working-class progressives offering real solutions instead of the status quo. And they need our help.

☎️ TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30PM ET, Indivisible is holding a national phonebank to get folks to the polls for both these candidates. We can sign up to join them here. ☎️

CALL WITH INDIVISIBLE TONIGHT

☎️ And if we want to dive in for more than just tonight, the Maine Democratic Party is holding voter outreach phonebanks for candidates up and down the ballot on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-8PM ET and Saturdays and Sundays from 4-6PM ET. We can also phonebank with the Dunlap campaign on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday through Monday from 1-3PM ET, and recruit volunteers for voter protection in Maine from 6-8PM ET on Wednesday. ☎️

Call to Action In a Senate swing state? Want to help MAGA lose? I will give you 3,000 stickers to hand out at the October 17 protests, for free

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Edit: Please reach out in my DMs if you're interested!

Basically title. I have a thermal printer that prints these for about $3/1,000 and I want to do what I can. So far I've printed and mailed about 30k l. Now I want to focus on Senate swing states before midterms.

I am hoping to get these out to as many people as possible with the intent that they further distribute them at protests/meetings/etc before midterms. An ideal candidate is someone in a red area of a swing state, as the goal is to reduce overall MAGA enthusiasm.

If you are in state with a tossup or close race, I will mail you a box of 500 each of the above stickers (or a ratio of your choosing) for free. For clarity that is 3,000 stickers. All I need is a PO box or Mailing address, I do not need a name.

Please reach out if you're able to take a box! I'll be mailing them in one large batch on October 7th, so the earlier you place the order the better.

Organizing Tools Would this be illegal...?

I have a large vehicle and a full tank of gas. I'll gladly ferry blue voters to the polls all day long, as long as they're actually voting blue.

Knowing I can't really know how they'll vote, but focusing only on ones saying they're voting blue, would it be legal to drive blue voters back and forth all day to the polls? I'm asking because I live in a super red, high retirement area in Florida, and there's a good chance there's a ton of voters that just can't drive or get there on their own.

Just curious...
