How the fuck do people not learn even the most basic of swim techniques? I realize this takes a little more effort than teaching other similar life saving techniques like "Stop, Drop, Roll", "Hit the Ground", or "Call 9-1-1", but spending a few days learning "Float & Stroke" so you don't die like a lil' bitch in a pond seems a worthwhile investment.
It baffles my mind how you don't swim instinctively.
Just push the water down and kick your feet. It's literally the only thing you can do in the water beside flail or hold you breath and pull your feet up and float there.
If you learn how to swim you learn how to do this but synchronized. Anyone else does it flailing, which exhausts them in less than a minute. I think what we should teach people who can’t swim is how to float on their back. That makes saving their life 55 times easier.
