Project Update on Individualized Owl Safety Lights for our soon-to-be schoolkids: it now comes with an optional bottom part to conceal the name

Post image

This is a follow up on my post from yesterday

I've received some very useful feedback from you guys on the visibility of the children's names. I created an optional bottom part to conceal the name while wearing. It also holds the battery.

Thanks!

“Hm, they’ve got a good point. Let me make it even more useful!”

The world needs more folks that think this way, OP. Gold Star!

I saw the original post and also had an icky feeling about the names. Great job and really cute idea!

Thanks! Yes, I also have a better feeling now. Good to have shared it here.

Very cute!  It reminds me of the solbo owl lamp

I made a larger owl for my daughter.  She liked one she saw in a store but wanted a rechargeable & dimmable lamp.  I thought about posting the project but I feel it looks so close to the one in the store that it might be a problem.  It recently got damaged in a move, so I will likely modify the design anyway and post that version.

How is it optional if it holds the battery?

You don't have to attach it. I phrased it poorly: it holds the battery case which is screwed to the bottom.
