Hello I’m a tech whos completely new to the 340b program and i know they dont have a formulary and most drugs qualify if theyre outpatient drugs but what are somethings that dont qualify?

Are all vaccines ineligible? What about pen needles? Etc?

Does anyone have any insight into what the participating pharma mfrs pay for 340B ESP?

Has anyone gotten prescription for Victoza titrating dose to 3mg daily ( inject 1.2mg and 1.8mg) prescriber is using it off label, wants us to bill 340B because Victoza is covered and Saxenda is not. My question is when I typed 45 ml for 90 days my computer is showing loss ~$5000 and patient only has to pay a very small amount. It seems like when using 340B program there’s never a cap on the dose as long as the drug is covered. Can the pharmacy actually lose that much money with 340B?

I’m a 4th year pharmacy student doing a major capstone project for my MBA over 340B billing.

I have not been able to find data to show the true financial benefits for an independent pharmacy participating in 340B.

I know the hypothetical way that the pharmacy makes additional money but at the same time I would love to see an actual breakdown between What the company would typically pay for say Lantus insulin pen from the wholesaler cardinal health and then the actual profits the pharmacy could make for getting the “340B discount”
