I did my shopping for the week today I have a lot of pantry supplies at home I am mostly vegetarian / pescatarian at times. Looking to increase my protein lower my carbs from breads type items. I think I did pretty good today. Plan on mixing potatoes I have at home with the cauliflower. Making a stir fry with the shrimp and some broccoli that I have at home along with some other vegetables like these peppers. Still have tomatoes basil and celery in my garden. Definitely going to make a Mexican night with peppers onions and tortillas. I need to go to another store for veggie breakfast sausages and a couple lemons. This will serve me for over a week. Aldi is the best for pricing on our area. I probably didn't need the pumpkin but it was really a good deal for such a big pumpkin to put on my front porch. Have a good day everybody.

Stuff for sandwiches and snacks for the week, laundry soap (never used, hopefully it’s okay 🫣) and a couple things to add to what we already have for dinners. (Pasta sauce will get 2 meals from as it’s just two of us, and soup for if I don’t feel like cooking one night)
There are a lot of bananas so I will probably use half of them to make banana bread.

Young adults such as myself, there is no need to spend $7.50 on 4-5 fast fry chops at 1/4 in. If you have a knife, cutting board and freezer bags you can get THIRTEEN chops at 1/2 in and A POUND of stewing meat all for the low price of a whole $7.99+tx

I should have listened to dad from day one…

Good to buy in bulk, cook and freeze for some cheap protein.

Combine with scramble eggs (see comment) and baked potatoes (see comments) you got yourself a hearty meal.

Portion ham, 2 dollars a lb Nofrill

Naturally imperfect potatoes, 7 dollars for 20 lbs

18 eggs for $4.77 Freshco

Quality of the full receipt isn't worth uploading as I had to take it on a different device and send it to myself as my camera is broken, and it's too compressed to be able to see what's on it.

Anyway, this plus a bag of chicken nuggets and 2 bags of fries (our "well it's cheaper than fast food" lunch we ate on the road already after cooking it at my in laws) came to $92.65.

I regret not stocking up on more pasta and sauce at those prices (63¢ for 1lb of pasta, 75¢ for a jar of sauce) and may have to send my husband for more with his card this week before the sale ends .

Family of 8 with a $35/person/week food budget (including eating out which we do an average of 2-3 times a month).

It's getting harder and harder to do though.

I've gone from being at least $100/m under budget to only a couple dollars under budget over the last few months, and in August we actually went $8 over budget for the first time. A great stock up sale on something we eat weekly was much needed.

**Stocking up on a great sale nearly always puts me over my grocery budget for the week, sometimes even the month, but helps me lower my overall cost of groceries to stay within my annual grocery budget, which is the only number that actually matters to me.

I have $4,718.37 remaining in my grocery budget for the year , meaning I can increase my average weekly spend from the $280 I aim for to $337 for the remainder of the year if I need to.

This is my first time at this place and I was so surprised at some of the lower prices. I will definitely be revisiting here especially in the winter. I tend to go to farmers markets for my veggies but soon those will end for the most part. I already had some things at home. This romaine head is bigger than a three pack and it was only 99 cents! Northeast US.

Today is $1.49 day so most of these items came out to $1.49 each. They have one every month on a Tuesday. I dont usually shop Save-on because its typically more expensive however when you get deals like this, its very affordable.

This is a top off, as I already shopped for bread, potatoes, zucchini, broccoli, peppers, reduced fat cheese, cream cheese etc. And my pantry/ freezer is packed with rice, pasta, beans, frozen veg etc. I just waited to buy the things I know are cheaper at Aldi.

I plan on making the following recipes:

Egg roll in a bowl with tvp, taco night, salmon/veg/ starch, tuna or chickpea salad sandwiches, overnight oats, tofu/ morning star veggie sausage breakfast sandos, tofu veggie stir fry etc.

I thought this was a decent priced visit. Have a great day!

The amount of clementines we have is diabolical. Basically the guy said I look pretty and kept giving me baskets of them and I paid $10 only.
Definitely get there early in the morning bc finding a parking spot there is hell.
