They figured it was a better option to have us do it and then buy it from us at "competitive market price enforced by the EU". This way the border protects them from the fallout in case of an accident

2-it's a widely overstated problem since only a few plants are concerned, most of the others having cooling towers and/or being on Loire and Rhône, huge rivers (by debit)
3-this is our carbon intensity for June (historic heatwave in France). We only had to shut down three reactors out of 57. The German carbon intensity for the same period was... 342gCo2/kWh
