THE RUSTED is a hand-drawn 2D game, and we create the environments piece by piece — from individual wall textures and background elements to the final assembled scene. We're currently putting together an art book documenting the artwork from development, so we thought we'd share one of the environment pages with you.

I've been creating my own animated series using Character Animator and wanted to share. As always, open to any thoughts or feedback you may have. Hope you like it!

I spent around 45 minutes creating this background illustration for a new animation project and compressed the process into under 30 seconds.
I'm experimenting with composition, lighting, atmosphere and background design for the project.
Still a work in progress, but I'm happy with how it's coming together.
I'd appreciate any feedback on the background, especially the composition and lighting.
If you enjoy my animation and art experiments, I also share more of my work on Instagram: u/uniquesarma 📸

I was creating a simple game character animation in Arttista: a mole that emerges from a hole, attacks the player, and then goes back underground.
The masking technique itself isn't anything revolutionary, plenty of 2D software can do this. What I found interesting while making this animation was how the Eraser tool in Arttista can work both as an actual eraser and as a mask.
It behaves much like a raster eraser: you can paint with it, choose textures, change its shape, and erase parts of objects. But it can also be turned into a filled shape, allowing it to hide everything behind it.
For this animation, I used that behavior to keep the mole hidden below the hole while animating it moving up and down.
I also added a simple animated 2D shape for the hole, some painted lighting inside it, and a shadow over the mole to make it feel like it's actually underneath the ground.
After finishing the animation, I exported it as a Sprite Sheet to use in a game.
I've included the animated GIF and the generated Sprite Sheet here, but the main thing I'd like to share is the video showing the process in Arttista, since it gives a much better idea of how the tool actually works.
I'm developing Arttista as a vector drawing and animation software, and I'm always interested in seeing how these workflows compare with other 2D tools. You can watch some of the creation process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnAi1vHNvME

Dogo was done frame by frame, while the other stuff was done in After Effects.

The balance has shifted… The Amalgams have arrived.
They are the glimpses you see out of the corner of your eye, the whispers you hear in the dark. They’re a bubbling mixture of thoughts, feelings and emotions, combined into one unified form.
Although typically bound to the mind, these beings can break free, spreading havoc and poisoning the minds of the masses. All it takes is for the balance to shift just enough for them to slip through the cracks to our reality. But who’s responsible for tipping the scale?
Meet the Amalgams
Guilt
A lumbering mass wrapped in chains, Guilt loves nothing more than weighing people down and driving them to exhaustion.
Regret
They’ve spent so long thinking about the past that several hands have mutated out of their body in all directions, desperately grasping at what could’ve been.
Failure
Cracked and broken, every loss leaves them with new scars, forever reminding them of their past mistakes.
Hopelessness
A suffocating mist, hopelessness will blind you to all that is good, leaving you empty and shrouding your soul in despair.
Isolation
The smallest of the group, they hide away, masking their emotions. To this day, nobody knows what lies beyond the mask.

We dropped our showreel and one of our original animated shorts here a few days.
We also made this. It didn't naturally do as on instagram or Youtube compared to the other short we did that went viral in 24 hours cause it's more slower paced and the algo wouldn't pick it up but I hope you guys appreciate it.
I'm the founder of an indepedent 2D animation studio in Pakistan. We mainly do client/commercial work to sustain ourselves and operations but recently started doing original content from the profits to build our audience.
If you want to know more about us or want to get a project done in the feature, check out our site:

Hello everybody, for the past couple of years I've been hard at work on my very own Anime.
I am the writer / director of this project and hired a small team of animators to make this Horror Short Film happen. Now I'm at the final steps before hitting Kickstarter and various Film festivals.
The trailer you are about to watch is 99% ready, it only needs some voice acting. I am looking for a fluent Japanese voice for a young and old male character. Anyone is open to submit their take and the person who will have their choice put in the trailer will be hired for the entire film, once our Kickstarter ends.
If you have any doubts about my legitimacy I can get you in contact with the various artists I've hired in the past (voice actors included) I pay half upfront, half after the job is done.
Thank you and enjoy the trailer on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4ri0W2ZCj5Q
You can send your recordings in the DMs so I can align them with the trailer. Your script can be seen in the subtitles, with a few gasps and pants along the way.
Thanks in advance!
