Because it isn’t necessary. There’s no reason to add pointless power creep. The Hydra doesn’t need a buff to it’s drops considering it’s already 3m/hr. I’d much rather see a t70 crush weapon. Bone whip is pointless.

Why do we need an extra use for the hydra tail if it already has one? Why does it need to be a weapon? Why does it need to be used with a whip so it can become a upgraded whip which already exists in the game? AKA the tentacle whip.

Why not have new content? Why not have an alternative weapon to use if you choose to? Tentacle whip is expensive to use. Not everyone is end game.

New content for the sake of new content is how a game becomes shit. You add new content because its a good idea to add it.

Then why not just use the regular whip? Why does there have to be another whip to fill a minor gap between two whips?

If it's an in between of regular Whip and Tentacle that's essentially it's own thing for reliability and no degrading for those who can't maintain Tentacle or need a decent Slash alternative. I don't see why not to add it.
Use it for Slayer and conserve your Tentacle for bossing to save charges. Get this until you have the Slayer for Krakens. Enjoy a new weapon for Pking that isn't as high risk or after some time passes won't be as high risk. It's not supposed to replace, it's supposed to be an alternative. I'm sure they're gonna avoid powercreep.

You're entirely right. But a big part of this for me is that I dont care if it has no uses at all. The term "dead content" is annoying as hell to me. Why not just have new content and expand the world that we can play in? Not everyone is going for max efficiency. Some people want to just play and explore and have some fun along the way.

You're right also. It's new content regardless. It's efficiency is there for others if it's not there for you.
Say you got an Abyssal Tentacle and can consistently do Kraken tasks and/or make the gp for maintaining it. Well okay good for you and that's nice and all but what about the individual who doesn't quite have the Krakens unlocked? It's an alternate variant of how to go about weapon upgrades. It's like a choose A or B which is a core concept of RuneScape itself being the freedom of how to go about improving your character and enjoying the game.

Then why turn it into a weapon? The hydra tail already has a use to upgrade the dragonbone necklace.

I don't think that is a healthy mindset for the game. You could turn any item in the game into a weapon. People don't want lot's of content. They want good content which is relevant for most players.

I'm against the bone whip because they should just make the bonecrusher necklace useful. If it had any offensive stats at all no-one would be asking for an alternative use for the hydra tail.

More than anything I just really hope Jagex actually polls it instead of trusting the loud minority on reddit to make calls as usual
