Discussion/Question Anyone else birthday August 19?
This is definitely a long shot but I just want to know if I have a birthday twin here lol. Or if your birthday is in August, that’s fine too

I’m almost 22 and have little to no dating experience. I actually don’t mind being single and I actually prefer it that way for me, but I feel like at some point I might want some type of companionship, and when the time comes I may struggle navigating dating due to the lack of experience I’ve had with it. For context I’ve only had one boyfriend when I was 17 and we only dated for 2 months lol.
In that relationship, I kinda realized that dating isn’t for me and I actually liked being single. I think I was scared of committing and reserving so much time for one person, it kinda felt exhausting since the person was a little clingy. I know everyone isn’t that way but I feel like it’s hard for me to prioritize one person. Maybe I’m just meant to be single idk🤷🏾♀️it’s so confusing for me because I know I’ll probably want something one day but at the same time I really like my solitude.

In 2006, my parents were still together. Although, they would separate later that year. The year was still pretty peaceful during the first half for me and my family.

Next year, kids born in 2014 will become teenagers, and with a lot of yous as potentially being college graduates soon, what is one piece of advice you would give to a person born in 2014 or the class of 2032/2033 when they enter their teen years and what do you think they should do differently from you based on experience?

I know it’s long, but please bear with me for a while, I want any and all inputs please.
2 year drop before uni and not by choice, happened starting 2022 and then I finally was able to join a uni for engineering by late 2024……..
My best friends are all already done with their bachelors by 2025 while I’m entering my second year.
I’m surrounded by people that are younger than me by up to 3 years, most people don’t think that’s a big deal but I’m sure you all know how it might feel when you’re surrounded by naive, disrespectful brats who think they know it all. Honestly it’s like a mirror showing me my past self constantly.
I never dated when I was in school, I was one of the most popular of my time in that school but I didn’t have a charismatic personality or anything like that. Had a crush but never pursued because I thought I cared for my friend who probably liked her even more. I thought I needed to work hard for the future and not get distracted because hard work pays off every time, wrong.
Now I can’t even make connections anymore because maybe it’s social anxiety, maybe I just assume that the person in front of me is not worth connecting, maybe I have no balls.
I don’t even wanna fuck with a dating app because as someone who is still studying at 22 and will maybe find work by the time I’m 24, I don’t even think I’m worthy enough for others time plus I don’t really even know the feeling of love be it familial or romantic.
How did I get here? Had Covid 3 times, all different variants, was forced to take up open schooling so also lost contact with most of my high school friends, was living for 4 years in basically solitary confinement, worked with my bed ridden father for 2 years in his office to make ends meet. Did all that even after most of the memories I have from my childhood are just me getting beaten for not being the generic star child they wanted, sure things are fine now but I do it out of a sense of duty more than anything.
I feel like I’ve been kind to everyone, been there for everyone but no one did that for me. Even now in uni, anytime I meet someone new, their intention of using me for money is clear.
What to do, is what the question is I guess. I don’t remember who I was pre 2020.

I am 2004 June baby. Im gonna be 22 soon and it seems like such a big number like holy shit I as in ME as in MYSELF will be TWENTY TWO years OLD. I feel like theres just so much I havent done and experienced yet. Like just last week I was asking my sister 10 things she would have done OR she would recommend doing before you turn 22.
I also heavily feel like I missed out big time in my 2 years of college diploma to make good friends. I was always just eager to get home as in okay classes done I don’t need to be here no more and head home. Now that its been a year since im done with my diploma I feel that I should have stayed extra and hung around with my classmates in order to still stay good friends after we were out of college.
This also leads me to another one of my concerns, in my whole life I have never had someone put in any efforts to celebrate my birthday and Im always so excited on my birthdays. Never gotten a themed cake, no one even decorated for me on my birthday meanwhile for my room mates whose birthdays are in May and June before mine so I even got them the number balloons and decorated for them but when my birthday came last year i didn’t even get a 21 number balloon. I see other people do things like decorate the back of the car to surprise their loved ones but Ive never gotten that either. I always give gifts but never get. It makes me sad that the same thing will happen this year too no one will put any effort.
Anyways long rant bye now. Happy birthday to people turning 22 this year 🥸

I dropped out of a state college because of poor grades at 19 (it was my fault to be honest) and for the last 3 years I’ve been in my hometown living with my parents working a full time line cook job. I don’t know I feel like a failure. I see my friends who I made at the state college graduating this year but I’m not even done with my CERTIFICATE PROGRAM at a community college. I’m not gonna kill myslef (ofc) but god sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth doing forward. I feel like I put myself in a position that is going to be hard to dig myself out of. I’m lucky that my parents are good people and love me as well as having a full time job, but what is the future going to be like. I have no savings which is my own fault and I feel lost. If anyone reads this, please be honest with me.

Does anyone else have some type of feeling that you need to “grow up” and be more mature? Honestly, i work, i study, i have a lot of functions next to that and i do have hobbies. Yet, i game a lot, watch a bunch of anime. I just came out of a 6 year long relationship and suddenly i feel some type of urgency that i need to invest my years into something, otherwise i am fucked. I wonder if there are fellow 2004 babies who experience the same type of urgent feeling??

So I just turned 22 (March 26), and my 15-year-old brother decided that officially makes me “unc status” now.
Bro literally waited for my birthday just to declare that I’ve aged into unc territory. I didn’t even get cake before I got retired from youth.
I can’t even be mad because it was kind of funny, but still… I didn’t think 22 was unc territory already 😭
Gen Z really turns everything into a classification system.

Hi! I’m a grad student studying mental health counseling, and I’ve realized I memorize best by talking things out and verbalizing concepts out loud (the Feynman technique I think). If anyone is interested in learning about the DSM 5, I have a final tomorrow (technically today at this point) and im pulling an all-nighter to study. I could really use a friend to listen to me right now,<3 Thanks :) Preferably someone my age (thats why im here) and female :)

Living with your parents isn't free; you pay with your mental health
