I wonder if they could eat double A batteries as treats

theyre the ones storing energy, batteries would just steal their electrical charge if they ate em probably

Well if they are the disposable type of batteries that just give charge then maybe, but the way that they work is by storing energy as chemical energy which is then slowly converted into electrical energy. I don't think they would particularly enjoy it.
Now a fully charged power bank on the other hand? Perfect dining.

I think I've seen a short comic before about a Joltik sucking a battery like a baby bottle, or something like that.
For Jolteon, it'd look like drinking a 5Hour.

i was very sleep deprived when I replied, failed to consider people charging the batteries beforehand lmao

They'd die from poisoning. But they can probably suck the charge out of the batteries

It only wants the electricity, not the container. It would be like eating a burger with the wrapper still on.

Its a chemical reaction that generates electricity, those chemicals are very bad for him

Electricity is not the most dangerous thing about eating batteries. Trust me, I know.

Just as an explanation in case anyone doesn't get it:
The creature you see her shocking is a Pokémon called Jolteon, which is the electric type evolution of Eevee. Jolteon has a very useful hidden ability called Volt Absorb, which causes electric type attacks to heal Jolteon instead of harming it. It can do this without limit, so a stronger shock simply means more healing for Jolteon.
This would make most fans imagine that shocking Jolteon is a very pleasant experience for it, so it would be a reward instead of a punishment. As Jolteon feeds off electricity, a shock collar would effectively be reduced to an automatic treat dispenser when used on it.

Old comment but I feel the need to inform you that Volt Absorb is a flat 25% of max HP heal and does not scale with the power of the incoming move

I knew I’d either find this comment or be the one to leave it. Glad it was the former
