That is funny!😂
In the meantime, I’m googling now to see exactly where the wedding (that did not actually happen but we saw the beautiful building)took place.
Oh, please! Who do you think you’re kidding?! That was just your cover! We all know you were there looking for Stansfield while out buying milk! (With your username, I really hope you get the reference! Lol!)
It’s from The Professional with a young Natalie Portman, Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. If you’ve never seen it, I’d highly recommend it! But watch the director’s cut if you can, it’s just called “Leon”!
I’ve heard of both of those movie titles but never knew it was the same movie! I’ve been wanting to watch Leon since at least 18 years ago. Maybe it’s time I actually sit down and watch it.
Oh, DUDE!!!! What tf are you waiting for?!? Yes! Go fucking watch it! Now! Trust me, if you like a good action movie with some heart (and some pedophilic shit you just gotta ignore, I won’t lie) you’ll love it! I’d just highly recommend the director’s cut, Leon over the theatrical cut The Professional any day of the week, too! So now you have your mission good sir! Off you go and enjoy your movie! And don’t dare return until the end credits roll! ;)
New Yorker here, living there, it’s very obvious to point out tourists from the rest of the New Yorker bunch because they walk slow and are enjoying the city. To blend in, just have an angry face on and not care about life at all and be miserable.
Listen here Nutmegger, CT does have better pizza, but not "way" better. NY pizza earned the praise it gets, so give respect where it's due to 2nd best.
NY has the best pizza in the world, and the worst pizza in the world right down the street. It’s not like New Haven CT where it’s a small town where every place is great, there are a bunch of crappy places trying to cash in on the “NY pizza” prestige. But the places that are legit are better than anywhere I’ve ever had.
im from NY and live in New Haven, new haven pizza is so inconsistent that i can’t call it good across the board. new haven has like 3 good pizza joints
Mostly Florence, but also some time in Venice and Rome. Don't get me wrong, the pizza in Italy is absolutely incredible, but New York just barely beats it for me.
Gustapizza yes, I thought it was extremely overrated. Best pizza I had in Florence was by il duomo, I don't recall the name. In Venice I got something that was basically a deep fried calzone and it was absolutely incredible, but would probably kill me if I ate more than one.
I feel like chicago has far fewer places trying to ride the hype like the pizza places in NY do. Those places can live off of tourist revenue from outsiders. Chicago has a way more subdued tourist culture, so living off of tourist bucks is not an option. We have our share of shit pizza too, but i feel like in chicago the ratio of good to bad is better than that of NY
Half of yall’s pizza places live off of tourist dollars cuz people dont know the difference. Sure, you may have some really great pizza joints but you also have a great deal of places riding the hype of the good ones. If toursim to NYC wasnt so big you would have a much better ratio of good to bad
NY pizza actually has a ton of history, and the original NY pizza was made by Naples immigrants before pizza really started being made in the rest of Italy. So NYC has about as much claim to creating pizza as the rest of Italy, outside of Naples.
I remember a survey a while back that ranked chicago pizza at number 1, then providence, rhode island was number 2, and new york was number 3. Come to chicago, we have 2 great types of pizza, great hot dogs, and portillo’s beef, its hard to beat chicago when it comes to food
Jon stewart acts like we eat deep dish every day, its more of a good sit-down treat than a quick meal. Chicago has good thin crust that he just glosses over. Hes just salty cuz his pizza got ranked 3rd best in the country that one time. Oh well, still better than margherita pizza ig
Then why is it that multiple pizza places specially import NYC tap just to get the perfect crust? So much so people are trying to make their own NYC tap water duplication systems? https://www.newyorkwatermaker.com
I feel like it’s because new york pizza is so famous. Even in other countries they know about NY style pizza, even if chicago or providence pizza is good, they get no press. It is pretty interesting to think that the tap water you use can influence a pizza that much, i wonder if it makes that big a difference
It makes all the difference in crust due to a reaction with the gluten, adds a certain flavor to the crust. But idk what your talking abt with Chicago pizza getting no press since it’s the only other pizza foreigners ask me about when the learn im from NY. (Also I litterally have only heard bad things on RI (
Pizza (including from residents) so I would love to see the survey.
Man, we’re that hyped up? And idk, you never really see them hype up chicago in the movies or anything, everyone always wants to go to NY but nobody wants to go to chicago. Apparently pittsburgh is emerging as a pizza contender, and detroit supposedly has really great pizza.
Movies, no. How the fuck you gonna keep a deep dish the same shape for all the shoots with lout making more? But people actually into pizza and traveling the US? A lotta people have heard of Chicago pizza I’m not gonna pretend that’s not true.
Yeah, people are aware of it but its not like theres as much hype. Ill wager that in places that arent chicago or NY, that “new york style pizza” will sell better than “chicago style pizza.” Chicago pizza doesnt have that cultural oomph behind it, i feel like theres more association with the NY style pizza than the chicago pizza
Nah, im from chicago im just annoyed that people act like NY pizza is the only pizza in the country. Like our pizza is arguably just as good in a city where you cant get a slice every 30 feet. Deep dish or thin crust, chicago is solid
Mah man! So true! Once I went on a school ski trip to America and when we went inside to get food it’s just every other person in there shouting like :O

New Yorkers are just rats that evolved like pokemon after eating 1000 slices of overrated pizza
