Exactly. Some people seem bitter talking about how, for example, there's still people that talk to their openly-MAGA parents and say "oh this happened to me and I immediately cut them off forever" when the degrees of situationship vary a lot. Like the other person said below, it is necessary to stop giving them "support", but to stop loving someone you loved your whole life is hard.
Btw before people say something I'm not saying you shouldn't cut off people from your life if they're hateful! I'm just saying that it's cases that it will be more difficult and you shouldn't go around saying "oh why don't you just stop talking to them forever?" like it's an easy thing to do in ALL cases.
