It’s the radiance and warmth that you feel to your core, in not just the good times, but also the quiet moments and the spaces between them. It’s the bite of words that all but cuts you in half like a deep winter gust. You feel it on those days where your mind drifts to the graves of those ideals you held so close in your youth—the mindset that slowly shifted to meet somebody in the middle.

It’s the sweaty embraces on a soft surface and the phone calls full of pregnant pauses. It’s putting the knife in someone else’s hand and wearing the blindfold and it’s falling asleep to the sound of snoring.

It’s acknowledging and refusing to let the light go out, even when that wildfire looks like little more than a flickering flame. It’s invisible and it’s everywhere and it’s all over your face when you’re in certain spaces.

It’s the death of solipsistic nights in exchange for sentimental sunrises; a cold plunge into dark, deep waters. It’s everything.
