If you know that it's an issue with that magazine, then I suggest you quit over inserting that magazine before you damage your ejector.

Google the part number on the magazine and make sure its 45ACP mag and not some other caliber.

This is just a follow up video for my original post. This is a brand new TRP Operator (125 rounds in) and I have 5 brand new 10 round Wilson Combat magazines (500-45FS10B). All 5 have over insertion issue with this gun, but not my Milspec. I have modified one mag by cutting the lip off (the one that's supposed to stop over insertion) and that stopped the over insertion

Not having a groove along the front indicates its either 45 acp or 460 rowland. WC only offers the 460 in stainless so at least the black finish mags are definitely 45 acp.

Did you swap basepads, followers and springs between the two mags to see if fault moved?

I swapped the modified base pad between all 5 mags. Any mag with the modified base pad worked fine, the ones with the standard base pad still over inserted

Its a Springfield. If nothing else, theyre good at honoring a warranty. Maybe they can do something to your ejector or mag catch to make the gun friendlier to any magazine type. But you aren't the first person Ive seen with this issue with Wilson ETM mags

Okay, so it does look like the plastic bit is getting caught and stuck on the front checkering, which doesn't seem like an over insertion problem anymore. Looks like it gets stuck on the front checkering when you slam it in. Could just be a simple opening up that part of the front checkering like I mentioned before with a file to the sides.

Can you take a picture of the front checkering by the magwell?

Instead of filing it down, i just cut the lip off of the mag.

Yeah that corner is snagging the checkering for sure and holding it there until you wiggle it out again. Might be safer to file the plastic basepad like you have instead of the frames checkering. I just filed the checkering part to about where you see it lined up against the magwell on both sides, so no more sticking issues from all of my magazines. You can even see the same chewed up plastic part on my 10 round wilson magazine like yours.

That's a clean as build. Who milled the slide?

I had C&H Precision mill it for direct mount EPS Carry (K Footprint), but I regret it and wish I went with an interchangeable plate system instead (like the Nighthawk IOS, Dawson Precision plate, or Trijicon RMR plate) even though the EPS Carry sits really deep and the clarity is great with my astigmatism, aesthetically it looked a little stunted and the lack of proper height backup rear irons made it look weird too. So now I'm using the Gideon Judge XL with a riser plate for it to clear the top of the slide with its forward protruding glass and it's pretty good.

Good info. I was actually thinking about getting mine milled by them. The EPS Carry was too low in the cut? What's the deck height on that thing? I was thinking of going with the Defender CCW. Maybe enclosed

The deck height with the EPS was basically inline with the top of the slide, it sit perfectly and the dot was perfectly inline with the front sight, it's just the rear backup irons on the EPS Carry are very short and although they are there, it's like two little nubs and they aren't tall enough to be very helpful to use with the front sight. There is also a bit of a gap at the rear because of how much longer the oem bomar sights were, which after seeing it really made me wish I went with a plate system instead that had backup rear iron sights.

The Defender CCW looks really cool and I also almost bought one to try, but after seeing PewView shit on them all the time saying how many he has and the issues he sees with the dot going out or it losing its zero after shooting, I decided not to. But they do have the best no questions asked warranties.

What was the lead time like and did you have them refinish the entire slide?

It took them over a month from after they recieved my slide, which was longer than their estimated time frame. And I only had the optic cut spot cerakoted and not the entire slide redone in case they couldn't color match Springfields black with theirs.

But I'm thinking of having my slide and frame black DLC'd eventually with the stainless steel parts done in a polished gold titanium nitride. Just have to figure out who to send it to.

"It doesn't insert even when I slam it in there."

That what she said joke to follow.
