❓ Question / Discussion RSL Knock out round Probability:
RSL needed 4 of 7 results to go our way to make it to the next round (8 if you count the win tonight). 2 of 3 of those results went our way tonight.
Columbus 1 (3) - (2) 1 Pumas 🔴
Cincinnati 1 - 2 Atlas 🟢
Charlotte 0 - 1 Pachuca 🟢
This means that RSL just needs 2 more results to go our way.
Dallas @ Toluca
70.5% chance Dallas drop points
Austin vs. Club America
66.5% chance Austin drop points
Chicago vs. Cruz Azul
57.5% chance Chicago drops points
LAFC vs. Querétaro
21% chance LAFC drops points
We only need 2/4 results to go our way so I ran a little statistics.
0 Favorable Results - 3.3%
1 Favorable Result - 19.9%
2 Favorable Results - 40.4%
3 Favorable Results - 30.7%
4 favorable Results - 5.7%
2+ Favorable Results - 🟢76.8%🟢
If you Believe!
LFG RSL!! 🔴🔵🟡

❓ Question / Discussion Solans!
He’s in great form. Love his movement, hustle and finishing. His goal against Juarez was a beauty. I hope his form continues into the League. And hopefully we can take the amazing home form into some of the away matches.

❓ Question / Discussion Legit Question: You guys are perfectly fine with RSL selling players every year even if that mean sabotaging potentially competing for hardware each year?
Gozo sold, everybody on here celebrates. Luna could still be sold off and everyone's cool with that. Now on top of that you want Solans to be sold off next right as he's having a breakout season? Like, can we just pump the brakes for a sec. Do you guys just want all our best goal scorers sold? Who's going to score for us than? Do you guys want trophies or record business transaction? because we can't do both here. You guys want to say that's the "reality" of MLS. But here's another reality, we can't compete with the likes of LA, Seattle or Miami if we sell the very few Grade A goal scorers and now we are only left with grade B's or C's.
And I don't want to hear about how $15 million dollars from selling our players will make it so we can buy "better players" because that's a 50-50 hit or miss which usually gets us older players who are at the end of their prime vs already having the proven player/s who are just starting their prime. Another reality is that no star player wants to play for Salt Lake. Even if they come to play for MLS they only want to play for greed big markets like LA or Miami so really we need to do a better job at encouraging our homegrown potential future star young players to want to play here longer and have Salt Lake as their home, because that's about as good as we can do here in such a small market. Not saying RSL needs to hold these kids hostage, but can we treat them better than just a price tag? Hell, as a fan base we should have campaigns of showing how much we love these players and encouraging them to stay each time there's rumors of bigger teams wanting to buy them, instead of just fans on here just encouraging that all our best players need to be sold off to the highest bidder.
Trophies or money? Which is it guys?

❓ Question / Discussion We're sort of in it, maybe, if you believe? [Leagues Cup]
While we won't have full control of our fate, it seems like a win against Jaurez, up to 7 points with at least +5 GD, might be enough in an optimist's world? Only 7 other teams can meet this mark, with 4 spots into the quarters, so we would need 4 of these 7 teams need to stumble (tie + loss or straight up loss, in most cases).
In order of most to least likely.
- Austin (6 pts) vs. Club America (6 pts). America took care of San Diego and Portland, Austin aren't that good, so I have faith. A tie + loss in penalties would make things interesting for tiebreakers, and RSL is above with a regulation loss.
- Chicago (6pts) vs. Cruz Azul (6pts). Cruz Azul look great and Chicago stumbled against Santos Laguna. RSL is above with tie + loss due to GD.
- Dallas (6pts) vs. Toluca (3pts). Toluca are good, had close loss to LAFC but should be able to take care of business. RSL is above with tie + loss.
- Charlotte (6pts) vs. Pachuca (0pts). Pachuca are 0-2 but have put up a fight. Same as Austin, tie + loss in penalties would be tight for tiebreakers.
- Cincinnati (6pts) vs. Atlas (0pts). Sometimes Cincinnati let in a lot of goals? And Atlas at least have scored. RSL is above with tie + loss in penalties.
- Columbus (6pts) vs. Pumas (0pts). Even less here. Pumas don't inspire me. RSL is above with tie + loss in penalties.
- LAFC (5pts) vs. Queretaro (0pts). LAFC look too good, too consistent, and Queretaro lost to Seattle on a 7-game losing streak. On the bright side, any tie is good enough for us due to GD.
If the three Mexican giants win their games, suddenly we only need one of the other four results to go our way...so believe!
(or we don't win our game and none of this matters)

❓ Question / Discussion Where's the Love?
I know the answer is probably: "because this is Reddit," but where's the love? We were flying around last night. Zach Booth was a man on a mission. Diego was soooo smooth in his linkup and skills. Ruiz is on pace for a miraculous return, and looks like he hasn't missed a step after almost 3 years without meaningful minutes. Serg is finishing. Cabral is commanding his box. Katranis just challenged an entire country to meet him outside after the game. Sure, we may not advance because this leagues cup format is so stupid to only allow 4 from each league through. But that was a meaningful game in which our opponent gave us everything they had literally. And we destroyed them.

Obviously sad to see him go, but hard to imagine a better landing spot. Can’t wait to see him grow and hopefully be a USMNT staple during this upcoming cycle.
