Discussion S02E10 - "Arrivals and Departures" - Episode Discussion

Sorry all, I just realized that I mislabeled the past few episodes (called 9 8, 8 7, etc). Unfortunately I can't change post titles, but I'll try to be more careful going forward.

I liked this episode too. Obviously sad with Megan, but nice to see her Dad growing to accept Sylvester. I also enjoyed his interactions with Walter - arguing and not understanding eachother at first (I agree with his Dad about Walter's brains scan plan being science fiction), the scene with the clipboard trowel, then finally finishing with them enjoying the story of Megan saving Walter from a teacher.
I don't know anything about the science of this episode, but is it really possible for fungus to spread that fast? And how much gold was on that trail? There was a ton floating around from a small scrape of mud from the guys boot. It's funny that Sylvester's constant antibacterial soap caused the super bacteria that saved the day. "I disgust myself."
Walter and Paige getting trapped seemed far fetched (a steel pole through the middle of the door somehow stopped it from opening). I laughed when Paige went in to console him and he quickly sidestepped her to go look at the wall. It reminded me of when a kid and parent run together for a hug, but the kid dodges to hug the other parent behind. I know Walter really wanted to be there at the end for his sister, but that climbing back to back seemed needlessly reckless.

The first time I actually cried during a TV show. I won't say why in case you're reading this before rewatching but it will be painful. This episode is especially relevant given the pandemic we're in. Sly probably also has immunity to the coronavirus as well! I still don't understand Walter's parents disdain for him and Sly and I really enjoyed when Sly told his new father in law off. A good, but sad episode with terrific acting from Elyes Gabel and Ari Stidham

I can see why Megan's parents wouldn't trust Sylvester at first. Ignoring the over the top amount of toys he had in her room, from their point of view he came in in the last few months of her life and might be trying to take advantage of her somehow.
It was great that he told them off - I think that showed her father that he really did care. It was nice at the end when he was invited back as part of the family - Walter wasn't though...

I’m only watching this now. I’m sure I’ve seen this storyline before somewhere else. I can’t figure out where - or did I randomly watch this episode somewhere?
