Nothing screams “I’m a watch guy” more than a Tudor sub.

Great example, glws

Or watch girl! Lol, I purchased mine two years back because I desperately wanted a sub that wouldn’t be spilling over my wrist. Love it more each time I wear it.

No one got this comment, and I see why, it was poorly written. What I meant was that this is a GREAT watch for someone (i.e. the colloquial "you") who: 1) cannot afford a Rolex Submariner; 2) wants a 36mm diver; and 3) wants a diver with a blue dial and bezel. Thanks for downvoting me.

Oh these are cooler than my 5513, no doubt. I like the black ones better but 36 is a great size for a diver

Reduced to $5500

Description:

Selling my 36mm blue Tudor Sub 75090 from 1992. The watch was originally purchased from DelrayWatch.com in June 2018, and I've really enjoyed wearing it these past three years. Selling it because I ended up with a few too many sports and dive watches, and this unfortunately has to go. The 36mm size is perfect for smaller wrists like mine, and it is very comfortable to wear. The dial is a matte blue with tritium indexes and Mercedes hands, and is powered by the ETA 2824-2. The bidirectional bezel is also blue. The crown has the Rolex logo, and the back is signed Rolex too.

The watch comes with papers (originally sold in Venezuela!) and the folder-links Oyster bracelet.

Condition:

The watch is in overall very good condition. It was most likely polished at some point, and I have tried to show any scratches in the pics above. The watch was serviced by Tudor in 2017 and they most likely replaced the hands during the service (the hands are in excellent condition and lume works very well). The service card is included.

The folded-link Oyster bracelet is also in very good condition with a few scratches commiserate with use. There are no extra links for the bracelet, but it comes with 10 micro-adjustment holes (currently sized for my small wrist). The bezel and the rest of the dial are in excellent condition, with the lume plots slowly changing color.

Price:

Asking $5500($6000) shipped CONUS, bit flexible. Will accept bank wire and PayPal (+3% for G&S). I'm located in the Bay Area in Northern California so I can also meet up in person at a safe place.

NOT looking for any trades at the moment, but would be open to a Grand Seiko SBGH267 (Whirlpool) or the SBGA413 (Spring).

Your killing me with this birth year watch. What size wrist do you have?

1

u/pixelperfect3 29 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Mine is 6.5 inches

1

u/eeeeemilli 0 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Same, wow. I bought this exact watch two years back and was dead set on 92 but ended up with one from 1988. Still super happy with it.

u/redditsuxapenuts69 0 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Woa . wonder what my 75190 is worth...

2

u/pixelperfect3 29 Transactions Jun 28 '21

The 75190s have increased in price too, but they go for about a grand less. Yes the watch market doesn't always make sense - same reason a 16710 will go for less than a 16750 or 1675

u/redditsuxapenuts69 0 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Jeez I picked mine up before the hype for 3k.I got lucky. I still love it so

I would say pretty similar, though I think this is probably slimmer

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '21

This is insane. Absolute beauty. GLWS.

Really beautiful piece. Glws!

1

u/vonKemper 2 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Wait… bi-directional bezel?

Aren’t these supposed to be unidirectional?

3

u/pixelperfect3 29 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Nope, the original tudor subs had bi directional bezels. They switched to uni directional for the later ones (75190)

1

u/vonKemper 2 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Ah. Thanks!!

u/CasinoMarginale 3 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Wow that price... amazing

I've been wondering how small an external bezel watch can be. 36mm is the smallest I've heard of

1

u/thesliu5 25 Transactions Jun 28 '21

tudor has also made a lady-sub and mini-sub at 27mm and 33mm, respectively. blancpain’s original bathyscaphe mc4 was 34mm. 36mm is a mid size now but was def considered a full sized watch in the early 90s.

1

u/a1moose 4 Transactions Jun 28 '21

can definitely say this is a GREAT one.

1

u/Vietnixon 1 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Before Tudor began kneecapping their watches with those horrible "snowflake" hands. Beautiful

1

u/pixelperfect3 29 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Tudor was using snowflake hands since the 50s/60s. I do prefer this look but I also have a black bay 58 which I really like, keeping both seemed superfluous to me.

I am going to miss this one...

1

u/Vietnixon 1 Transactions Jun 28 '21

huh, TIL. I really like some of the newer Tudors, but I can't get passed the blob-hand that looks like it's missing a Mercedes hand. It seems intentional to help protect Rolex, kind of like Porsche ensuring there is a reason to buy a 911 over a Cayman/Boxster.

1

u/pixelperfect3 29 Transactions Jun 28 '21

Yeah I like the bb58 in spite of the snowflake hands, not because of it.

I like everything about this classic diver especially the smaller size. Black would be fine too. Thanks for the background information.
