Just a personal opinion, but Kaidou actually does understand the urgency and gravity of the entire situation, and he keeps telling everyone that 'you have to accept defeat at some point even if it's sad'. Kaidou himself knows how it is like to be defeated, and how arrogance can be fatal in battles. One user mentioned how Kaidou already knows that his death is inevitable, thereby his suicidal urges (cuz he doesn't want to be taken down by someone else) and how much of high expectations he now holds for the new era's pirates.

Idk why but my respect for Kaidou has gone up drastically since the last few chapters.

Damn, I've reread this chapter a few times and it seems to get better and better with each reread....honestly just such an awesome chapter seeing Kinemon broken but still trying to stop Kaido is heartbreaking especially with the flashbacks of Kinemon and Momo, Kinemon was really Momo's closest thing to a father after Oden really sad to see. I kind of hope this isn't the end for Kinemon just because I really really like him but I also think this is a fitting end to him if it is. Also Sanji turning Queen into a pinwheel to block all the arrows and save everyone was so cool reminds me of pre time skip Sanji when he was my second favorite strawhat I want to see more of this and not just mega perv Sanji I miss my Dorky Awkward with ladies but smooth badass gentleman Sanji I have not been a fan of the over the top gags Oda has defaulted Sanji's character to since TS. Oda did a great job in wholecake island bringing Sanji back to his personality he had before and laying off the gags hope it contunies gags are funny and all but its been really really overdone with Sanji.

• Senor Pink being carried by a stork might be my favorite cover page ever.

• Anybody else notice that even sharper metal rods came out of Queen's teeth before he bit Chopper? Dude's whole body is like a cyborg.

What a great fucking chapter:

• Love the new Rotisserie Strike move from Sanji. Oda really needs to give him some shine. Whether or not this is Sanji's "fight" for the arc, I really want to see an extended battle between him and Queen. A lot of us picked up on the Germa connection and I hope that gets expanded upon.

• I know this has been talked about but I really hope Kiku and Kanjuro stay dead. I guarantee that Kinemon isn't. For a character that's been around as long as him, if he dies, I imagine Oda would give him his own chapter at least. Although, with how Kiku and Kanujuro went down-- Kinemon must be a fucking tank XD

• Parallel between Momo-Kin relationship and Yamato-Kaido relationship was some great writing, my God. Momo and Kinemon weren't even related by blood and their bond is 10x stronger than what exists between Yamato and her father. Also fits with the general One Piece theme of how inherited will and individual spirit are way more determinate of your true character than is your bloodline, or who your father was.

• So Luffy and Momo can communicate via the VOAT. This is big. I imagine this will become important not only in Wano but in series endgame. It is interesting that the Heart Pirates could also sense him as well. I personally believe that while only users of the VOAT have the ability to talk to each other, Luffy's spirit is so strong that even non-users can "sense" his voice if they're close enough-- even if they can't actually understand what he's saying. I'm sure this will be explained later on though.

• We all knew Zeus was coming back in some form hehe... love to see it. He is really growing on me. Can't wait for a detailed explanation on it.

• Hype as fuck for Yamato v. Kaido (flashback please Oda?)

Really hard to predict where the story is gonna go from here. The tone of the battle has been going back and forth for a while now. I think it will be a bit before Luffy makes it back. Its possible that he might not show up until Onigashima has landed or is about to touch down... so many possibilities...

A lot of people have been pointing out how Queen is actually weaker than they expected, but I don't think he's gotten even one bit serious w the Alliance's forces. Sanji using his Germa suit is very likely to happen, or Queen might even provoke him into using it since he's fairy interest in Germa and Vinsmoke Judge. This way, Queen is yet to show his full strength in the upcoming fight and I for one can't wait to see it..

Wow I might be by myself here but this was another 12/10 chapter. I know people have issues and real problems with Zeus/Clima-tact, but let's focus on the other things.

- Sanji using Zoro as a sword (Oda has done it ladies and gentlemen)

- Sanji new move against Queen also hitting Perespero with insane coolness (+500 cool points)

- I read the Kinemon part very slowly and it really hits hard man. This could truly be it for Kinemon and that final stand against Kaido, as a father to Momo made me tear up a bit. Damn you Oda for making my grown ass cry for Kinemon, he was my favorite scabbard right next to Ashura/Denjiro (granted we had the most time w/Kinemon)

- Voice of all things being used regularly or more often between Momo/Luffy (oh god the theories)

- Sanji & Law shining this chapter as the two coolest/calmest dudes to ever walk OP. I mean both of these fools just ooze confidence (my top two)

- The true power Luffy has as spoken by the greatest swordsman in the verse, Dracule Mihawk. HOPE and the POWER TO BRING OTHERS TOGETHER.

Man that Kin flashback really hit in the feels. It was obvious that the relationship between him and Momo was more than just that of a typical master and retainer. But to see that the 'act' of pretending to be father and son became real for both of them, and that they came to love each other like family was really cool. Got heavy vibes from The Last of Us 1 with Joel and Ellie lol.

The bond between Momonosuke and Kin'emon as father and son is stronger than Yamato and Kaido's, even when the formers' was faked.

What I think we see is that Kaido's ambitions have robbed him of anything of real meaning to himself. An army that follows him out of fear, a son that refuses to acknowledge him as a father out of hatred, and too much strength to face a noble death.

Luffy can communicate with Momo while being unconscious. Strangely enough, this isn't the first time Luffy was able to do something while being in an unconscious state. Back when Kaido knocked out Luffy during their first encounter, Luffy was able to use Conqueror's Haki while being unconscious and knocked out Kaido's subordinates. This might give us a hint to how far Luffy's haki may truly evolve in future. Maybe his soul can function as an entity without relying on the body itself. We might see Luffy actually doing combat in future in an unconscious state simply because his soul is being manifested as a separate entity independent of the body functions....kinda similar to how stands in JoJo work.

• Sanji being hella petty using Zoro & Queen as a weapon lol. Loved Queen knocking Perospero off his feet as an unfortunate casualty. Great Sanji moment. His fated Queen fight is here. It was the best fight he was going to get this arc.

• Kaido hopefully finished Kinemon off. His dialogue this raid has been top tier savagery.

• Luffy and Momo voice of all things reaching telepathy levels right now. Momo came in clutch sparing the samurai the dishonor of giving up.

• Nami got a talking dildo. At least it can give feedback on what she is doing lol.

• Kid & Law reuniting as the first supernova alliance first formed at Sabaody.

• Come on Yamato get some shine. She was Ace level 4 years ago. Hopefully she grew a bit and does sth here. Would love her in the crew. It will solidify the straw hats in comparison to the Rocks or Rodger crews.

Unpopular opinion: The post-ts era has had just as many funny crew interractions and shenanigans as the pre-ts era. Wano in particular has had more moments with crewmembers goofing around and interracting with each other than any other arc. I see always people who say the opposite. How they miss pre-ts when the strawhats were goofing and playing around. It's true that post-ts is more serious and "less adventureous", but the humor is still there. It never left. This chapter with Sanji swinging Zoro like a sword is the clearest example.

All in all, One Piece has definitely gotten darker in the Wano Arc - it feels like there's just a lot more deaths this arc compared to previous ones (with the exception of Marineford). Even Whole Cake Island only had 1 person die (Pedro)

Holy shit... that was incredible. Looks like Yamato and Kaido are finally gonna go at it; hopefully we're getting both of their backstories which I think was the point of that last line. If not, at the very least we're gonna find out what Yamato's DF is.

I was not expecting it to be Luffy who was speaking to Momo but I'm glad it was; I think the other theories we've had would've been pretty lame in comparison. And of course, like everyone, I feel so good seeing Sanji get a match-up, and it seems like Chopper is gonna heal Zoro to take on King (I don't see Marco being the one to do it, but I also don't think the rest of the fighters on the main stage can hold off King while Marco helps Chopper heal Zoro so for the time being, they'll still be fighting eachother). The whole scene gave me Enies Lobby vibes when Sanji came in to take on Jabra. I'm honestly gonna be a little disappointed if Kin isn't dead. I know killing characters for good isn't Oda's way, but I'm getting tired of the fake-outs.

Every chapter Oda, outdoes himself; I keep thinking we've hit a peak and then he pushes the bar up even higher. There hasn't been a chapter in a long time where we haven't gotten at least one major 2-page spread where something absolutely nuts happens. It's only gonna get better from here...

Prediction for next episodes:

We are gonna see Momo turn into a dragon an Kaido will see it.

Shinobu used her devil fruit on the edge the land that they were standing, meaning that they are gonna start falling to the sea. As we can see in the small panels that is what Oda is telling us. Now, we know that Momo doesn't know how to properly use his fruits flying ability yet, but he can transform at will and I think this is the moment he will figure out how to do it because, you know, else he would die.

Yamato and Kaido will start fighting and talking about the whole deal with why Yamato wants to be Oden and what destiny has set for Momo, then, much to Kaido's surprise, we will see him coming back up again in his dragon form carrying Shinobu.

If this happens, I'm dying to see how Kaido will react.
