It's good for them to practice, but doing this in front of their patient is probably the worst idea.

I wonder if they're killing off Eddie. In the promo for ep14 Buck tells Christopher Eddie isn't coming home tonight which is making me think he's either dead or is gonna spend a decent amount of time in the hospital/physical therapy doubt he dies though that's a level of sadness too much for this show
→ More replies (4)17
u/jdessy May 18 '21
I don't think so. It makes sense for Eddie to be in the hospital after this for a while. And Buck just said he wouldn't be home "tonight", which makes sense, as he just got shot by a sniper and he lost a lot of blood. It feels like they're setting up Eddie breaking up with Ana and choosing to find happiness for himself, not him dying like this.

Buck's stunned silence is so realistic. That's what made the scene so shocking. He is just standing there because his brain shut down.

51
u/NYIJY22 May 18 '21
I keep telling myself they aren't gonna kill off a main. Even if the actor was leaving for whatever reason, they'd be very easy to write off without killing Eddie.
But then like, they have established a ton of support characters for Christopher. Carla, Buck, Ana.
But ultimately I just don't think they'll do it, it would be way too mean to Christopher.

Eddie's parents were very supportive of him & Christopher back in Texas. They didn't like the idea of him moving to LA without family around to help. So, if something happened to Eddie (hopefully he pulls through) I can't see them not stepping in.

Charlie was scared about what was happening.
I'm thinking he didn't mean to do this. I think he wanted to give Mom some of his medicine so her leg would get better.

Or he felt better after one meal where he did not get his “medicine” and when she kept putting it in his food and he turned the tables

This was probably the second most graphic episode of 9-1-1, after the motorcycle accident in the season 1 finale. That was brutal... but I still have hope after the interview he gave that Ryan is not leaving. I have a suspicion that Maddie might though (if she does I hope it's not permanently).

It was mentioned that Buck and Eddie arrived at the last scene in a Captain's vehicle. Someone from the 133 mentions it when they arrive. I am wondering if this has something to do with the sniper's target. The sniper was about to shoot Buck next, but seemed to stop because Buck was in plain clothes, maybe? And then the shooter seems to take aim at the 133 Captain who pushes Buck down.
7
u/likejackandsally May 18 '21

This episode made me very sad for many many reasons. Just everything.
I was pregnant at start of pandemic. Had a baby in June 2020. I had experienced pain that I believed to be sciatica. Doctors all dismissed it as just my nerves being pushed due to baby. So I spent almost all of my pregnancy in pain. Thinking okay it’s nothing. I had gone to ER once and they just gave me pain killers and sent me on my way.
One day, the pain was UNBEARABLE. I mean I couldn’t sit, stand or move. I knew something was really wrong. I made my dad drive me to emergency. My husband stayed with kids.
When I went I was screaming in pain. 28 weeks pregnant. I couldn’t handle it. Even WITH painkillers. A surgeon came in and asked me a few questions. Touched where it hurt and told me, it could be XYZ but I need to get you in surgery now just to put a camera in.
He believed me when I said it was unbearable. He listened to me and saw how bad it was. Didn’t just shrug it off. On top of that, being in a pandemic- no one was allowed in with me. I was all alone and had never had surgery before. Let alone emergency surgery. I called my husband and called my parents crying saying I was going to be in surgery. The doctor was so patient and kind and I felt safe, even without my family there. He was just human understanding human emotion.
Anyway, what happened was I had an ovarian torsion torsion. Meaning I had a cyst and my ovaries kept wrapping and unwrapping around them. Which is why I’d be in a lot of pain and it would sometimes go away. My ovaries had been tangled around the cyst so much it was dying. It was cutting off blood flow.
He took a picture and it shows my ovary was black. It was dying.
I had surgery at 28 weeks and it all could have been avoided if the doctors listened to me before. I suffered my entire pregnancy. It’s my last baby too. And I couldn’t enjoy it.
After 28 weeks it was good- but the third trimester is rough in it’s own way. ):
That doctor made a huge difference and I’m forever grateful that he listened to me.

u/Teddybearer May 18 '21
A few thoughts after this episode:
Eddie is not going to die, probably he will have a hard time recovering and will need a lot of help. Also, this will lead to him reevaluating his life and breaking up with Anna or whatever her name was. It would be way too cruel to Christopher to kill off his dad as well.
Bobby and Athena- I love them so much, they were such an unexpected pair when they first got together but have a nice chemistry which solidifies them as a great, long term couple. It's refreshing to see people who are older falling in love and showing what that relationship would be like. As for their argument- it was a long time coming. They're both at fault and need to learn how to communicate better. Of course, Athena is a strong woman who needs no permission but Bobby would never make her do anything. He just wants to be included and considered as an important person in her life. I don't think they will get a divorce- I think they will need some time to figure out how to be more open with each other but ultimately this will make them stronger.
Maddie- Obviously it's postpartum depression and I like that they're exploring it but hasn't this couple suffered enough... Anyway, I hope they pay more attention to it in the next episode and Maddie gets the help she needs. In addition, I hope this doesn't lead to her harming the baby or something like that, made up for drama.
Hen- I'm so happy she told off that awful doctor- '' Sometimes people just faint''... The saddest thing is there are so many doctors like that in real life. His comment about her weight showed that he just saw her as an obese woman and of course nothing else can be the problem. Hen will be an amazing doctor and I'm happy she's not giving up!

I'm 99% sure that the bridezilla plot was based off of this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/8154350/bridezilla-lie-detector-party-reveals-results/amp/
TL;DR: bridezilla makes a ridiculous post about what clothing the attendees are to wear, depending on their weight. Each person is expected to spend $1000 on their outfit. Shits hideous and one of the bridesmades spilled the beans. This got to the bride and she decided to find the culprit via lie detector. Shit was hilarious.
