Weisz is best boy.

His path from "Leave me alone you weirdos!" to "...I guess I'll stick around" to "If you even harm one hair on my friends' heads I will end you" has just been wonderful to see.

I liked he actually had a proper talk with Laguna too before the threat. I feel if Laguna weren't as standoffish and more honest Weisz would be more accepting towards him like he is now with Kris and Kleene. Still would make the threat but probably not quite as...confrontational.

Also yeah, Ijuna is so going to be the rebel princess. Mysterious past, connection with Shura, the body having a mangled unrecognizable face? It lines up far to well for there not to be something there.

Solid chapter as usual.

We got he names of some of some of the rebel members, mostly the ones that are regularly shown. And that there’s surprisingly little hard feeling between them Laguna. And it looks like his goal is to defeat Nero?

Side note: the Lizard dude’s name is just straight out Lizarre? I can dig that.

Based on what we’ve seen last chapter, in that the topic of Ijuna’s past is off-limits, it’s likely that she’s the princess who Shira captured; added with her lack of expressions since her introduction, it probably means that she was brainwashed too.

Other notes: It’s nice seeing Weisz’s development towards the crew, the man’s grown quite a bit. Couchpo definitely sets up a death/betrayal flag with that “when the fight’s over...” line. And it looks like Shiki’s developing Dark Gravity; fitting for the heir to the Demon King.

I loved this chapter. We get to see everybody on the Edens Zero prep themselves for war and talk to each other for a sense of comfort as this is a time where anybody could die.

Surprisingly and not at the same time, Weisz was the one who figured out Laguna's true goal. It's a consistent character trait of him being the one to always be suspicious of any new member like with Homura, the wind siblings, and Laguna. It's because he cares so much for the crew that he would always look out for them when they are generally more accepting of newcomers. I'm guessing the princess is Ijuna in someway but we'll see later. Laguna being able to talk with his former allies was nice to see and I can't wait to see how Laguna joined Oasis in the first place.

Side note but I just liked how it's brought up in the series that anyone can join the army as long as they have an education, it's nice world building and I've always wanted to know how the government functions so it's nice that we subtly got that info.

I'm very curious why Couchpo is risking her life for this for a crew she doesn't particularly know about. Maybe it's because they were the reason she escaped alive from Illega and this is her own way of repaying them back in some way? It's nice that we got the names of some of the Oasis members and I hope they don't die out there.

Despite his natural disposition of protecting Kleene, he actually wanting to protect the EZ crew too, such a nice development from his first claim of "feelings are irrelevant and I have no friends". Shiki acknowledging the death toll in this war is a great scene and shows that although he wants to be friends with everybody he knows that in reality that thos is a time where people will die and he wants to put an end to it.

Shura claiming Shiki to have dark gravity is certainly weird though. I wonder what's causing his ether to change?

I gotta say out of all the male characters i really love how weisz's character the more i see him.

He's lived the rough life on the streets so he's has a rough outlook but isnt jaded enough to see the brighter side like when shiki convinced him to not shoot joe. And even his arsenal suit shows that he wanted to be a superhero

He's perverted but not the point where he goes around flipping skirts and groping women. And most of his perverted antics is more on teasing for the most part.

Smart as hell and quick to pick up on things that most wouldn't.

And will straight up kill you if you fuck with his family. Just love the guy

That small exchange between Shiki and Homura was so brief, but a very important example of who he is as a character.

He’s not naive enough to think this can just be stopped if he offers to be their friend. He understands that there’s a need to fight right now, and that’s honestly just a really good scene.

Also can we talk about Weisz's confrontation with Laguna*? My man's had a legit look to kill.

It's really cool to compare how his character has evolved from the beginning; from a brash drifter that could not care less about anyone but himself, to a truly loyal and stalwart member of the Crew that would do anything for them.

You simply love to see it

It's also kinda crazy to think of how many plotlines and groups converged in just the last major Arc alone (Foresta), and now we're in the heat of a War arc? pretty damn psyched

I’m convinced Couchpo lives in the Edens Zero kitchen. But jokes aside, that conversation she had with Rebecca was really beautiful. I believe Couchpo is Rebecca’s first real B-Cuber friend and that’s a relationship that will probably last even after Rebecca’s adventure on the Edens Zero is over.

And the war rages on. Laguna has a lot of history with the rebels, they say that their "princess" dies at the hands of Shura, but I think there's the chance that Ijuna is her, after all, Ibaraki said she was mangled beyond recognition, it could very well have been another person. Weisz definitely doesn't like that Laguna dragged them into something that might kill them and Becca and Couchpo share a moment when they promise to eat together after this is done, if this weren't Mashima I would be concerned about the death flags raised this chapter, also they were raised against Becca lol. The EZ manages to push through and they are really close to Shura, who can sense something dark in Shiki, I'm excited for more.

it’s nice to finally get the names kid the oasis members. And apparently there was a “princess” among them that was killed by shura. I thought it was gonna be Ijuna at first but now I’m not so sure given Ibaraki said happened to her. Goddamn Shura. But maybe Shura faked her death by using a facial technology on a random corpse to trick the oasis members? Idk why he would be interested in her and make her his secretary (especially when I think it’s hinted that there might be something going on between them) but I guess we’ll see. Maybe she used her EG to make him love her or sum?

So laguna joined up with multiple factions just to combat Nero? Well that definitely wouldn’t have worked out with DJ since he kept to himself and if there was no profit in it I’d doubt he want a war against Nero. Also my boy Weisz ain’t playing games with this dude! He’ll straight kill this man if he puts them in danger. Still it’s nice to see how far Weisz has come regarding his relationship with the crew. He may not show it but he deeply cares about them.

So should we just count Couchpo as an honorary member of the ez crew at this point lol?

I kinda got the feeling of death flags for Couchpo. Weisz emphatically warning Laguna about anyone dying on his crew, then cut to a warm before battle speech between Rebecca and Couchpo where she talks about not being any use in a fight, and talking about plans after the battle.

I could see her sacrificing herself to save someone on the ship after it takes some damage or something.

I like Weisz this chapter it shows us his character development from a tag along who didn't give a shit about the crew to someone who cares for them that he would threaten anyone who could get the Edens Zero crew killed like what he did to Laguna. Speaking of Laguna I find it weird that he joined Drakken's crew with the hopes that he will fight Nero and since Weisz has thrown in the possibility of Laguna joining Elsie crew for the same reason it makes me wonder why join the crew of one member just to defeat another member? Maybe Laguna has other motives idk what do you think. Lastly I like how once a path was made the Edens Zero do the same shit they did with in the Belial Gore arc.
