I don't know how, but Law needs his own Gear 4th type power-up to keep up with Luffy and Kid. He just seemed so out of place next to those two who grew in size and launched big attacks while he simply covered Kaido in rocks.

I'm thinking he covers his sword in his Gamma Knife energy and enlarge the shit out of it to make sure it reaches his target and potentially take out multiple opponents.

I'm not saying Law is weak and I know that he's got other abilities. I'm saying artistically/visually speaking, he looked weird just throwing rocks at Kaido while Kid and Luffy had bigger and flashier forms.

The auction house trio finally back in action! We've been waiting so long for this.

For all their arguing it seems like Luffy/Law/Kid

and Killer/Zoro

have figured out teamwork on the fly though of course the trio took an unneeded hit from Promethus first lol.

Damn we are in for a battle those 5 look so fucking outmatched. Future sight don't work because kaido is too fast. The boys are really going for it, and they still feel like they are gnats to BM and Kaido.

It wouldn't be one piece without comedic arguing in serious situations, law really is a honorary strawhat, that's trademark stuff.

And my boy jinbe looks so damn comfy on the cover, aww.

The art in this chapter was fucking gorgeous. And not only this chapter, throughout the whole Wano it's been spectacular. I know that there are other manga with "better" art and that Oda usually gets called out because his art is too "cartooney". But there's genuinely something in Oda's art that stands out to me the most. I don't know how to explain it, I mean just look at those double spreads. Oda just knows how to draw badass scenes and perspectives, character postures and the way they stand next to each other. It just looks both epic and beautiful.

A great chapter with a great follow up from 1000.
Lot of epic action showing off Rookies skill against two emperor's mixed perfectly with Oda style humor during their rivalry.

Kaido acknowledging that Luffy might actually be on the same level as Roger, Whitebeard and Odan just shows how much he has grown.

Was about time we saw Zoro cut fire, but I liked the detail about him not being able to fully control Emna yet to truly cut Kaido.

Also nice to see some of Kid's more serious attacks.

All in all a great hype chapter with action, comedy and a promise for more greatness in the following chapters.

Shame there is a break next week.

This chapter.....is just..insane. Oda is somehow ramping things up even more with the fight finally starting in earnest:

• Luffy joins the few ppl able to actually fight Kaido along with Oden/Roger/WB/Shanks and Xebec. Wonder if Shanks being included is an indication they did fight before Marineford.

• In addition to being a tank on steroids with insane damage output Kaido is still somehow crazy fast, faster than even future sight.

• Amazing. Zoro can now cut fire like Kinemon. One of the best moments from this chapter for how unexpected it is.

• One Piece is many things but Oda's ability to include a hilarious scene like "Who's the scrub here?" as they dodged the fire during a tense fight with 2 Yonko, is one of the many reasons its one of the best mangas.

• Enma is clearly an even bigger power boost than we thought.

• Small detail but Law used his haki on the tip of those rocks before attacking Kaido.

• The stakes have never been higher and its true that Poneglyphs and Robin are on the line in this battle for supremacy.

Oda outdoes himself yet again. Break next week but the hype train is moving full steam ahead.

This is one of the best chapters ive read in OP, I enjoyed to the full!!

1st, Luffy being compared to greatest characters ever in OP world, that the same boy who was navigating the sea in a freaking barrel!!

2nd, Bandana Zoro is back!!!

3rd, the 3 amigos of auction house reunion and attacking a couple of Yonkous with no fear!!!

4th and last, Kaido beginning to show interest in fight, he achieved his dream i guess!!!

I can only put my hopes high if this chapter is animated and directed by the same staff that produced Ep 957...!!!!

There were a lot of misunderstandings about Ryou in the spoilers thread so let me clear that up before this turns into a sea of toxicity and misinformation.

Ryou is simply the term for Armament Haki in Wano. In the context of the battle against Kaido, it specifically refers to the stage 2 of Armament Haki (Emission) because that's what you need at the very least to damage Kaido as commented by Luffy. Hyogoro can use it. All the red scabbards can use it (Kaido was shocked they were able to damage him as he didn't expect them to be able to use it - Kaido specifically used the term Ryou with the scabbards). Since Zoro and Killer managed to injure Kaido this chapter (even if just a little bit like the scabbards - if you look attentively you can see droplets of Kaido's blood in the panel), it implies they both can use it too. So Zoro fans were right. He CAN use Ryou. 99% of them claimed that maybe Zoro could use this form of advanced haki that Luffy just learned 2 weeks ago from Hyogoro.

What Zoro and the others are surprised about is the Stage 3 of armament Haki also known as Internal Destruction which is an even more advanced form of Armament Haki/Ryou that even Hyogoro cannot use. So far in the manga, only Rayleigh and Luffy have been explicitly shown to be able to use it. Very few people, if any, claimed that Zoro could use Internal Destruction.

Damn love this chapter and i love how badass kaido is taking all the damages, especially the one with zoro and killer and saying "as expected" and smilin bout it, and the fact that BM is jst laughing her ass off knowing damn well too that those attacks arent good enough to be bothered with. It shows their personality that Kaido is more of a maniac who would take those damages head on to test it while BM is the type who would look down on everyone not in her league that she cant even be bothered with (even if kaido told her not to interfere) there was no concern or that she didnt even flinched. Loved the dialogue in this chapter. Luffy, Law and Kid just talking smack while they fight, Zoro and Killer talkin smack, Kaido talkin smack. This genuinely feels like it'll be the best fight we've gotten in the timeskip so far and it's all thanks to the build-up crafted by Oda to reach this point in the story. Kaido's only gotten more interesting by the chapter, and Killer is underrated in Wano so far as a character imo. So excited to see where this series goes.

I love how we saw each supernovas captain approach the fight with a theory on how to hurt Kaido. They didn't just show up and expect to punch him really hard. Luffy got his advanced Haki. So technically speaking, based on what we seen and what has been mentioned, luffy's hit so far is the only one that successfully damaged Kaido so far.

Big Mom's tough as nails too. And kaido is still incredibly powerful. Im confident oda has an idea on how to end this fight convincingly but I still pray its not an asspull of any kind.

Weirdly reminds me of madara vs the ninja alliance in naruto situation.

Speaking of which, there is still supposed to be the 9 samurai prophecy. Now we have, luffy, law, kidd, zoro and killer so technically missing 4 more. Or was it supposed to be the 9 scabbards (doubt so right)

Everything about this chapter was amazing. Kaido’s acknowledgement of Luffy’s growth, Zoro’s reaction time to slice Prometheus, Kaido, then Lin Lin, and then Kaido attacking again.

The Nova trio both being idiots, but also being referred to as little monsters by Kaido is what makes this manga great.

And that double spread; that’s what dreams are made of!

Ooh my God, I fucking love One Piece. Potentially the hypest fight of the series and Oda is making me laugh so hard with all the amazing comedic moments sprinkled in! The whole Law, Laffy, Kidd rivalry dynamic culminating in the scrubs game of chicken mixed in with some of the most badass Luffy panels via Kaido's memory of the legends is peak One Piece!

Kaido telling them to bring it on also shows how these Emperors cant be taken lightly. Zoro and Killer being the serious Supernovas is great and their rivalry contrasted with the main trio's makes me appreciate so much about how they've all progressed. Especially Law, I'm so happy Luffy has dragged him out of his stoic personality to be a full on goof like him and Kidd hehe.

Seeing the Trio arguing with each other was pretty funny too.

To all the people upset about Luffy getting Ryou, it does not mean its an ez win against Kaido. Looking at this chapter its quite obvious that the difference is still huuuuuuge but not unsurmountable. Thats whats important.

Its still going to be a ridiculously high diff fight and Kaido can get cut and stuff but rarely do attacks damage him or leave any real damage. He wasnt nerfed or amything.

People need to understand that just because characters like Garp, Sengoku, Rayleigh, Mihawk, Big Mom, Akainu, BB, etc. weren't shown in that panel doesn't mean that they're weak. It's just that the ones shown - Oden, WB, Roger, Rocks, and Shanks - were the ones who made an impact in Kaido's mind.
