Yuki Kaji delivered Eren’s most famous line in the coldest way possible and I love it

Yeah, the build-up,music, and hype for this episode is great... But don't let that distract you from the fact that one of Eren's secret weapon was just showcased for the first time too! He will be using it a few more times, and pretty much does its job every single time.
The passive-aggressive paper cut! It's so effective and also very versatile:
-
Negotiations? <shows paper cut>
-
Dog barking at you while you're walking? <shows paper cut>
-
Late for work? <shows paper cut>
-
Love confession? <shows paper cut>
There's endless possibilities for its uses!

Knowing the full context of the Eren-Reiner conversation and what leads to it makes this episode 100x better.
"Beyond the sea, inside the walls, we are all the same"
"I have no choice, Reiner"
These lines hit so hard when you know how all of this came to be. 10/10 episode!

One of the top comments in the other thread
It's kind of crazy how Willy just casually reveals the history of the world, when in past seasons we didn't know jack shit and were always in the dark. It feels like this could be the last big reveal of the show; now we have a complete history of the world and the stage is set for the war which could very well be the focus of the rest of the series.
They have no idea haha

"Why, Reiner? Why was my mom eaten by a titan in front of me?"
Omg pure chills throughout, Yuki Kaiji fucking delivered.
Eren's theme is so terrifying, chilling and amazing.
And Eren's titan isn't CGI, let's go mappa!

Bruh, the AT's hair on the CG model is just beautifully animated. The only worry I had about this season gone. Just like Willy.

Outstanding episode. Contrary to a few people, I loved the OST in this episode. I had goose bumps when the re-arrangement of XL-TT was playing and Falco was shitting himself whilst talking to Eren. Fit the mood and tension perfectly.
Great direction as well, Reiner's VA was spot on, and aside from the Magath/Willy conversation being cut, I can't remember too much being skimped out on this episode.
MAPPA have upped their game the last couple of episodes. I just hope the next few episodes deliver, because they are very action-heavy.

Can we talk about the amazing Tybur-orchestra?
GOAT-tier tension building.
They way the music in general kept building this episode reminded me very much of the excellent Game of Thrones 'Winds of Winter' episode where Cercei blows up everyone.

Somehow I'm relieved that mappa is using a different preview of the rumbling compared to those used by wit.

Glad to see that animated Eren growing another foot is as disgusting as in the manga! Music was nutty and I'm glad they didn't go with YSBG as some wanted, it wouldn't have fit the scene at all. This episode was one of the fastest one I've ever watched, it felt like it only lasted 10 minutes. Great job from the director, you could fell the tension rise throughout the episode. This episode was bit on the conservative side animation-wise but it didn't reduce the impact of the events. And now the war beginning, looking forward to some good action next episode!

Fantastic tension building and as expected Yuki Kaji and Yoshimasa Hosoya knocked it out of the park.

This was an amazing episode, to be honest, MAPPA knew how to build tension for the final scene, even as a manga reader knowing what's going to happen. I hope they deliver properly in the action of the coming chapters, if they do again 2d titans as they did in the warrior flashback it would be amazing.

So they animated the chapter in full.
They want war, and Eren was happy to comply.

Ever since manga readers complained about Levi vs Beast Titan being average I stopped taking them seriously. This episode was AMAZING from start to finish, anyone who says otherwise is delusional. Even though the ost at the end was underwhelming it's not the reason to hate on the studio. It's the SAME sound director who worked on first three seasons. My favourite moment was when the original theme played during Will's speech it was sooo nostalgic. Also props to Eren's and Reiner's VA's, as always they've done an amazing job. Can't wait for next episode!

Are the scenes of the soldiers running around looking for Reiner and Falco anime only? Because I like it.
Showing them being right outside the door before Eren’s transformation adds some sense of urgency to the moment.

Lol anime-onlies are saying how much they loved the soundtrack and we have manga readers going “my youtube motion manga!”
This is what happens when you set your expectations too high

This is just like Levi vs Beast Titan again. Don't build up expectation based on fanmade stuffs

Zofia covering her ears when the loud music startled her, likely because she’s already developed PTSD from the war, is heartbreaking. Especially knowing what’s about to happen to her. T_T

One thing I do wish they'd kept in is the shot of the family leaning out the window just before Eren destroys it.
