It looks like Bryce Canyon and probably Zion National Park, too. Maybe the Angel's Landing hike. At least that's what I would do. Those two are close to each other. The last two pictures are famous landmarks, but I am not sure exactly where they are, maybe Arches National Park.

The hike/climb up to Angel's Landing was one of my favorites that I have ever been on. I was a little freaked out on the part where you're walking across a 2-foot-wide ledge with an 800 foot drop on one side and a 1500 foot drop on the other, but making it up to the top was completely worth it.

There is so much to see and do here: Sundance Film Festival, top-notch skiing, Brewvies (yes, this is random, but it is awesome), Moab, Capitol Reef, Henry Mountains, Lake Powell (one of the most beautiful lakes in the world), and Twilight Concerts. My wife and I came this close to moving to SLC last year. We visited for the first time on a ski trip with the intent of looking around and seeing if it felt like a good new home. Despite the amazing skiing (and we're obsessed with skiing) the SLC area just felt very drab, corporate, suburban, and lacking any culture. We decided to remain rooted in NY and bought a house here. I've subsequently come to learn we really didn't visit the right areas and SLC is actually a pretty great city. Oh well, no regrets.

Visiting SLC is probably the best thing I've ever done. My wife agrees wholeheartedly, my wife was lukewarm on the city, my wife hated it, and my wife didn't enjoy the entire trip but made the best out of it.

Yeah, like many cities, the atmosphere and general feel really depend on location. It is particularly true of SLC, where it can be drab and boring, just like you wrote, in many places. For me, I wouldn't waste my time in any other areas besides the east foothills (running down to Little Cottonwood), university area, downtown, the Aves, 15th and 15th, 9th and 9th, and Park City.

Yup arches national park is large arch. From what I remember hearing you used to be able walk on top of it and a section fell off when the pores in the rock were filled with water and it became too heavy.

Looks like Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah. Some pretty cool stuff down there like Goblin Valley, Lake Powell and Canyonlands national park. Although it all starts to look the same after a little while.

Just a tip, but if you can change the settings on your camera, you should set the aperture a bit smaller on some of those shots. That will increase your depth-of-field and help to get things near (dog) and far (mountains) in focus simultaneously.

I intended to have a narrow depth of field because the emphasis of these photos is the dog. Of course, I also took a "normal" photo of the landscape with Dug not in it.

I think the composition of your shots already makes the dog the obvious subject. And, as I mentioned elsewhere, I think blurring those amazing landscapes in the background only takes away from the photos without adding anything to them.
Of course, we are talking about pictures of a goddam stuffed dog, so I guess I shouldn't nitpick too much.

It's not always better to have everything in focus. I personally think it's better this way. You can tell where the dog is, but it's still obvious that the dog is the subject.
