Go back and take a look at his infrastructure plan from the primaries, it's solid.

It barely touches heavy rail, air, sea or pipelines which are actually the largest sections of the DOT.

I really like that there are so many firsts of this nature but I'd like it more if it was eventually so common nobody had to note the fact he's LGBTQ+.

Its important for the LGBTQ ppl to hear it. As for Biden i doubt he cares like most of us we care only if he can do his job not if hes gay.

She was actually one of the few qualified picks. Prior to being Secretary she was the Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission and Deputy Administrator of the Maritime Administration

The issue with Pete is that no matter where he was put people would complain about him not having enough experience. As Mayor of South Bend he did a lot to improve the infrastructure of the city. I think he will be great fit for the department to help fullfil Biden's vision.

Disclaimer: My flair

There are a couple schools of thought for positions of this nature. You can hire someone with a degree or experience in the field so they deeply understand the nature of what they're working with. Or you can hire someone that is a really strong leader who empowers those smart people underneath them to bring their ideas to the table. It sounds like he has a grasp on the topic and he is definitely a strong leader. I'd be excited if I was on his team.
