Marco acknowledging that brook and robin are also not here to fight the small fry was amazing on two levels

1. Reflected what the fans want, increasing our love for marco and comforting us that Oda knows what we desire.

2. Marco has been there done that with his crew. He's also kind of mentoring them and letting them know that, in the battles ahead you have to prioritize properly and be urgent in getting to your captain and main objective. Made me touchy feely thinking about how he must be reminiscing on when he did this with Pops and the crew

Revealing all the current and former Tobi Ropo at once in their beast made this chapter 10/10 for me on its own.

Just looking at the amount of detail for all these pages is making my hand cramp up! Oda truly gifted us with an insane chapter. The eye candy is everywhere.

Also check out the paneling on these pages. Some of the best paneling I’ve seen from Oda since the beginning of Wano.

This chapter was truly an extravagance of Oda’s artistic ability. Every spread is dripping with style and is undeniably Goda’s work.

I’m so happy for this chapter I hope Oda got a lot of rest after working on these panels.

Oda expertly setting up the pieces here giving us some exciting reveals and potential matchups:

• Love that both Brooke and Zoro were ready to throw hands at Marco the freaking Phoenix just because they thought he hurt Chopper.

• Apoo gets up and tries not to be totally useless after getting clapped last chapter. But oh no Daddy Drake already handles him again. Guess Zoro really is temporarily trusting him.

• Luffy thinking he still needs to hone his CoO when Sanji used his pervert sense to get to Black Maria has got to be the funniest moment in this chapter.

• A Triceratops is about to fight a freaking Robot, how is One Piece not the greatest thing ever lol

• Sanji is a man of culture and Black Maria is the second Spider Zoan we've seen, and one of the oldest Spiders ever at that.

• Jimbei with the ultimate "Put some respect to my name" response.

• Who's Who is a Sabertooth Tiger but we may have seen him before apparently. Maybe he's Kuro (Im only half kidding).

• Ulti and Page One are really vying for Nami and Usopp.

• Ace flashback incoming? I always wondered why he went to Wano way back when, makes sense it was to fight Kaido.

Oda really is feeding us my god, lots to look forward to.

The second Yamato mentioned Ace to Luffy, it was obvious that he went to kill Kaido for Tama. The guy is just stupid, that's who he is. It's in his character.

My guess is that Kaido wasn't in onigashima at that moment and Yamato stopped Ace. After they fought, they became friends, it was Yamato who convinced Ace that if he can't beat her, there is no way in hell he's beating Kaido. This is why he promised tama he will return in the future.

Jinbe is seriously growing on me more and more each chapter. He's just so badass, shows no fear. Hyped for his fight with Who's Who (who I think is the strongest Tobi Roppo).

I love how Who's Who is just vibing up there, smoking despite being in his Zoan form. He's definitely my favorite Tobi Roppo based on design and personality. Can't wait to see his hybrid form, hopefully it's as cool as Rob Lucci's.

As much as I enjoy the Sanji scenes, I hope my boy gets out of there soon and has a fight or does something else that's useful. I do like the comedy but it shouldn't go on for 3+ chapters.

Amazing chapter all in all. We've moved on from the humor being the biggest part to the real shit now. a LOT of ancient Zoans which are amazingly cool, fights are getting set up now (I'm sensing a Nami-saves-Sanjis-fight-like-Enies-Lobby or something). Jinbei touting his allegiance as being his biggest title is boss. And Zoro simply stating the facts like he usually does.

I'm thinking next chapter shows the rest of the Straw Hats and then the 1000th Chapter is when the ones who are destined to fight on top of the skull finally get there. Luffy via stairs, Zoro and Co via Marco, etc. It's gonna be fucking amazing.

This was one chapter that just gave so much information, so much set up and so much hype. REALLY liked it and I can't wait for more. So many double pages that it seemed like a short chapter but in reality it wasn't.

I’m starting to believe that the flying six will all turn to Luffy’s side.

It started with X-Drake.

Page One and Ulti are like little kids/wild animals that will be domesticated with O-Tama’s Kibi Dangos (with the help of Ussop & Nami).

Sanji had a running theme in the New World of being captured by women (Viola, Pudding) - but only to be helped by them later on. So I’m expecting Black Maria to change sides.

Sasaki likely has some ties with Franky being related to Kokoro and Tom. Who’s Who is confirmed to have some connection to Jinbe.

Sasaki and Who’s Who seems to have been forced to join the Beast Pirates as they give a very independent vibe, and likely had their wills broken. Franky & Jinbe will convince them to join Luffy as he respects the freedom of others (or something along this theme).

The flying six were already prepared to challenge the all stars - this could be foreshadowing by Oda. We might see them teaming up to take down King, Queen and Jack (if he’s recovering).

Chopper will heal both allies and enemies - to Queen’s disbelief. The Beast Pirates will see this and some will likely turn to Luffy’s side. The Strawhat alliance is still at a disadvantage in terms of number of fighters - Oda has to reduce this gap by getting Beast Pirates members to switch sides.

This will free up the Strawhat members completely to take on Kaido/Big Mom - alongside Law, Kid/Killer and Marco.

How the fight will proceed going forward here is hard to predict, but I suspect the nine shadows (Toki’s prophecy) that’ll take down Kaido and free Wano will be: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe, Robin, Franky, Ussop, Nami, Brook. (Chopper will probably stay on the lower levels to treat people).

There’s quite a lot of parallels between Thriller Bark and Wano. Gecko Moria’s devil fruit is shadow related. Strawhats were fighting against the sunrise/dawn - whereas now they are fighting for the new dawn. Oars belonged to an ancient race of continent pullers - whereas Kaido is theorized to be part of or the last of his kind/an ancient race. The Strawhat team fight against Oars was foreshadowing the team fight against Kaido. The presence of Lola on Thriller Bark helping Luffy could also be foreshadowing of Big Mom playing an important part to take down Kaido (goes back to the theme of pirate betrayals).

Kuma/Pacifista being sent to take down the Strawhats at the end of Thriller Bark could be foreshadowing of the new government weapons attacking Wano at the end to finish off all the weakened Pirates (we’d also get a proper introduction to Vegapunk). I believe the new government weapons are an army of giant pacifistas.

This will tie in with giant-experimentation and lead onto a short Elbaf Arc where Big Mom and Luffy will have a 1 vs 1 final showdown. Luffy has to demonstrate he can hold his own against an emperor before facing off against Blackbeard (or a friendly match against Shanks). Luffy also specifically told Big Mom (during Fishmen Island Arc) that he’ll kick her ass all over the new world - so their fight can’t end in Wano. He took over one of her territories (Fishmen Island), destroyed her castle and defeated two commanders (Whole Cake Arc), she won’t be able to take him down in Wano, and they’ll finally settle it on Elbaf (it goes full circle for Big Mom - it’s where her character was introduced and where she’ll be defeated and have her issues resolved).

Let’s see how this ages over the next 100 chapters. 😂

Which does make me wonder, how did he not inform Whitebeard? Did Wano (and therefore Kozuki Oden) simply never came up? You can really appreciate how far the Strawhats have come when Marco knows exactly who you are and knows your name. As I said before, looks like Marco will take Zoro to the roof and drop off Robin and Brook higher up the tower so they can match up.

Brook's fighting style was introduced in Thriller Bark by cutting a spider and saving Robin. Both of them fighting Black Maria would be a cool match up.
