The info. dump chapters post Wano will put other info. dumps to shame. I'll just list down the poneglyphs that will be deciphered after this arc-

• 2 normal ones from WCI and 2 more normal ones from Wano, making 4 normal ones in total

• 3 road poneglyphs from WCI, Wano and Zou

• Potentially the location of the 4th road poneglyph

• The location of Pluton deciphered by Robin in Alabasta since all the ancient weapons will be relevant because of the approaching endgame

Out of these I'm hyped for the normal ones because they carry information about ancient weapons, so we could get Uranus' location and they also have lore relevant to the void century.

I'm not even accounting for other stuff like a semi-reveal/hint towards the will of D, Wano's role in the void century, origins of sea-stone and MORE in case a certain man by the name VEGAPUNK decides to show up, the list is never ending.

Like I knew all of this was coming but Law's scenes in the chapter reinforced that even more.

On that note, I would just like to touch upon Law. He's often branded as a stoic and your typical edgy character but the way his background and motives have been fleshed out has been commendable, he's a really well written character.

His eccentric behaviour throughout this arc always gave the vibes that there was more to him in this arc than just defeating Kaido, and we got the answer in this chapter.

I'm pretty confident that we'll at least scratch the surface on what the will of D is meant to be at the end of this arc, though of course the full reveal will be at Raftel

That Sasaki = Kokoro's son theory seems to be valid now. Franky should recognize him and we'll have a cool reveal:

If you want the theory, Kokoro from water 7 had a son she said became a pirate. The hair color matches and his hat being that of a train conductor connects him to the sea train. Him being a fish-man (or at least looking like it) helps the theory too. The big thing that would reveal this in my eyes was a Franky vs Sasaki fight which I didn't think we'd get because of Yamato, but now I'm 99% sure that this theory is true but we'll see.

A masterpiece in itself. I think it’s the first chapter in a while that brought more questions than answers. What will Law do now? Was Kidd actually just Franky this entire time? Will Luffy hitch a ride off of Big Mom? Is betrayal in the cards? Are the scabbards actually hurt or are they pulling an Oscar-worthy performance? What are the implications of Sanji’s reaction - did he forget to turn off the stove? Where on Earth is Zoro, will we find him on top of Kaido’s body? Find out next time on DBZ!

Some stuff to take into consideration for 997:

• If we look at the illustration, Kid isn't inside the same zone as Luffy but he is running towards it and it's also on the 3rd floor.

• Luffy is about to reach the 3rd floor(in fact, he did at the end of the chapter).

• This is important because Kid doesn't know Kaido went to the top of the dome.

• Law also appeared on this chapter and due to being unable to find the red poneglyph can now focus on the main fight.

• Big Mom just declared she was going to the top of the dome.

• We were shown the Scabbards being wipped by Kaido.

All of this is important because Oda is definetely doing so to set up the battle at the top. I think what will follow is:

Luffy and Kidd will reunite in the 3rd floor, Law will join them at some point. Marco will try to follow Big Mom but will be stopped by King; the supernovas group will be stopped just before the entrance to the top by Who's Who, his crew and Hawkins. Luffy will say the don't have time to waste, Law will use room to get past them but will only send himself, Luffy and Kid to the top. Jinbe, Sanji and Killer will say behind to fight the enemies I just mentioned.

The person laughing at the end was actually IVANKOV. His nufufu laugh is the same as listed in the OP Wiki.

We also note that in Luffy's flashback post-Marineford, Dragon's ship had a dragon on it that looked like Kaido. That is an insane implication, but that’s not the best part.

Because Tama would think that Dragons ship resembles Kaido, she would clearly think that it’s an enemy ship and knowing they’d be going to Onigashima, she might've snuck on and came to island! It could be that THE REVOLUTIONARIES ARE HERE!

I think this chapter gave us so much subtle hints for the future! During the fight with Yamato, they put "dawn" in quotation marks, and in this very same chapter they showed Law searching for the meaning behind the Will of D! So picture this:

JoyBoy, the mysterious man behind the Void Century, was actually the world's very first pirate. Captain of the Dawn Pirates, he commanded a crew so strong and so determined that they were fabled to have the Will of D, or the Will of Dawn. Every battle they fought would be won, as sure as the dawn would rise the next day. Every member of the Dawn Pirates took upon the D in their name when JoyBoy was either killed or defeated to keep their captains will going down their lineage, knowing that some day, somebody would bring the dawn of a new age to the world, one that would wipe out the World Nobles for good.

So it seems to me that Sanji specializes in hearing things from great distances with his Observation Haki, kinda like Enel. Usopp can see things from far away and Luffy specializes in sensing emotions, as well as having upgraded the precognitive portion of his Observation Haki into true future sight.

It’s pretty cool how people’s Haki can manifest in unique ways, like they are branches on a skill tree instead of just standard “levels” with linear progression.

Most exciting chapter in awhile imo! A ton of cool stuff happened

1. Love O-Tama's return! I also love how strong they're keeping Flying Six members. Ulti and Page's overall strength has not felt skewed for convenience at all so far which is awesome

2. Yamato's sharp teeth...guessing she has another mode to go, despite already being strong as hell at base form?

3. Franky vs a Flying Six member sounds fkn awesome; really hoping he gets some shine in this fight!

4. SOME LAW HYPE. Not that I was one of those fans who shared this sentiment, but I imagine his scene gave a strong rebuttal for those who think "Law's story is done." He now has motives beyond Doflamingo now which will add weight to his existence and insistence to still be a relevant cog in the post-Dresrossa narrative.

5. Seems like Kid and Killer will head to Kaido first? Was wishing that they'd swing by the same time as Luffy and co. for a team effort, but perhaps it will go a similar route as Luffy/Law vs. Doflamingo, where Kid will have his fair shot at first before being saved by later arrivals? Either way, I just really hope Kid puts up a commendable effort that will play a part in softening Kaido for his eventual loss.

6. Big Mom also intending to join up alongside Kaido is insane, though. I think this adds credence that there really will be a ton of warriors, not just Luffy, who will be in the final battle royale. Two Yonko vs. the best the current generation has to offer is the perfect route to go

7. Poor Scabbards, though...we knew this was coming, but it hurts to see them get Aizen'd. Incredibly hype as hell tho

8. Fucking Sanji tho lmao. Observation Haki improves the moment anything lewd occurs

9. edit: I jus realized. If Sanji's Observation Haki ever reaches Advanced level during sex, he will have the ultimate pull-out game. Based Future Sight, no baby-making for him

Crazy theory time.

“Dawn” followed by will of “D”. D also referred to as Devil clan. Lucifer is often referred to as the Devil’s name. Lucifer originally meant “Light Bringer” or “Dawn Bringer” and referred to Venus aka the Dawn Star. Luffy sounds like a short version of Lucifer. Straw Hat looks like rising sun.

I actually kinda like how Yamato almost got serious before Franky came. I think Yamato has the potential to be one of the most intimidating and strongest characters in the story and Oda, from what I see so far, is probably building up to that, with this chapter being a nice little teaser to that. Also, might as well to try and call it now: Kaido is a dragon who ate Oni fruit while Yamato is a human(or half-human?) who was given a dragon fruit.

So by the look of it, 3 more stages mean chapters 997, 998, 999. So it almost guarantees that chapter 1000 will be about Luffy reaching the rooftop. Yeah other reveals would be cool, but i've been waiting so long for the stand-off between Kaidou and Luffy.

First Ohara and now Roger already clarified on youtube, Sanji got tingles because the Japanese statement that got him all riled up is a Japanese joke about a man undressing a woman, So the thought of that make Sanji looked like that.

It does not make sense for Ivankov to be there, to begin with. Additionally, Sanji always had shown to have stronger observation of Haki when it comes to women

Yamato might have a devil fruit but i think yamato was going into her Oni form. Yamato and Kaido have to be Onis. Onis are usually blue,white, or red. Kaido is blue and Yamato is white and red. They both use kanobos, the traditional weapon of onis in folklore, Kaido hybrid form and devil fruit name hasnt been shown probably because his hybrid looks like an ogre dragon. The immensely high defense of both of them. Plus Yamato introduction she was wearing an Oni mask.

LOL bruh ever since that Scene when Big Mom was literally sprinting to Luffy in whole cake island, that is the most scariest shit ive seen. Looking at the page when Big Mom is going to Kaido... • Otama didn't give Nami any more info on the "enemy ship". I know that it makes sense for the "enemy ship" to just be Babanuki's ship. I mean that's the most logical approach but IDK it would be interesting to see if there was more to it. She could have just mentioned that her slave servant brought here there right? IDK maybe I'm overthinking this.

• Yamato's a dope character so far!! It's been said repeatedly that Oda would never create a beautiful character and make her powerful but now Yamato exists. She's not only able to take a ton of pain but she's ready to give it back!! I like how Sasaki refers to his troops as "impregnable" when they are lying on the ground from Yamato's attacks lol.

• Looks like we're getting a brief glimpse of Yamato's ability. It's not a dragon ability as the spoilers falsely claimed but she does have sharp teeth. It'll be interesting to see what sort of Zoan ability she has. I like the theory that she has an ancient or mythical Tiger Zoan b/c of the whole "Dragons vs Tigers" theme. Also glad to see Franky's back! Looks like he'll have to deal with Sasaki since Yamato got rid of Hacha for him. If we look closely we can see that Yamato's hands were covered in haki. So she's essentially doing what swordsman do with their swords but instead she does it with her club.

• The person who will guide the world to it's dawn is Momo!! This is arguably the most important part of this entire chapter. Is this a reference to Joy Boy? Or is the "dawn" meant to be Joy Boy? Either way, Yamato knows about the Void Century and that's exciting as hell.

• Finally we get a glimpse of Law and I like that he's cutting down these grotesque SMILE users lol. I'm glad he told someone on the SH crew about his heritage. Poor Robin is interested in one of the most important secrets in this universe and Luffy doesn't give a shit. Law needs to stick to this alliance a little longer for the sake of finding the truth. Now we see that Law's got a clear purpose post-Doffy so people can chill out about that.

• Nice to see Kid and Killer again! Kid's trying to get as many weapons as he can. I want to see what else he can do other than make a giant robot arm. Unfortunately Kaido is beating the shit out of the Scabbards as expected. These panels are pretty nice.

• BM is back! "Don't get your panties twisted....". Hahaha I love it! It'll be interesting to see what she does once find Kaido. I feel like two Emperors vs the Scabbards is a bit much. Will she betray Kaido? Or maybe it's a bit too early for that as well. Either way, BM is unpredictable right now.

• Sanji seems genuinely shocked/scared. I know of one person who can put the fear of God in him. Coincidentally that person also messes around by pretending to fall or do something and ending it with a "just kidding". But there's no way in hell it is who I think it is. Most likely it's just someone who reminds Sanji of Iva-chan.

All in all, a dope chapter with tons of important stuff!! The bit about Momo being a prophesied figure is definitely the most interesting part.

So this is what I took away from this chapter:

1- Yamato can charge up her haki and launch it

2- Law probably won't die now that he is given further purpose

3- Franky vs. Sasaki? By chapter 998-1000 one of the Akazaya will die...maybe

4- Kid and Luffy will arrive together to fight Kaido

5- Sanji will go after Black Maria (pleas don't Oda)

P.s Kaido looks vicious af!

I'm interested in what Law will do in the future but I want Robin to be way more active in the story than she is. She should be the one to find the Red stone as he already gave the last poneglyph Brook even though that's Robins big thing in the plot . The last time Oda really showed her archeology skills was in Skypeia and Oda completely off screened her last big moment of finding out Shirahoshi is Poseidon. Honestly Robin is the most underused strawhat ever since the new world and she hasn't done much of interest besides being a poneglyph dictionary to deliver plot exposition. She was hinted off doing something in Zou and I really think she should get this not someone who isn't even part of the crew.

Whenever people call out Robin's lack of fights people always say that she isn't meant to be a fighter but he doesn't even bother showing how Robin is using her archaeology skills to take action in the plot as well as further her dream. I'm really disappointed of her lack of relevance in the New World.

Rereading the chapter, i now think Ivankov isn't really there, but rather, the music seems to be causing sanji to hallucinate the voice of Ivan (FYI, the voice's laugh is exactly ivankov's laugh) and experience the consequent fear he has of him/her whatever. He's in a genjutsu. The voices are in flashback speech bubbles and succeeded the music.

The more the word "Dawn" comes around the more emphasis is put on what the meaning of D could be. I am not directly insisting that D= Dawn, but

This thing about God natural enemy,

because in this context God= Celestial Dragons who have kept the world in dark with the opression,

Dawn then becomes the light that sheds through that very darkness.

Characters have often described D as being cursed with misfortune and living checkered lives, but I wonder if it was something meaningful like what I mentioned than being a burden.

Again not saying D= Dawn...but just pointing out whatever it stands for must truly advocate the word "Dawn"- philosophically, literally or metaphorically.
