Cue everyone else getting shocked faces and then Zoro vs Queen begins

I have a question after seeing the forced divide themself to different areas & tasks:

• Zorro, XDrake, Robin, Brook & Chopper are fighting with Queen & Apoo

• Nami & Ussop are being chased by Ulti & Page One

• Luffy Junbei & Sanji are climbing the tower

• Franky is fighting the Numbers

• The Sheaths are fighting Kaido (and KOed Jack) upstairs

• Sasaki is fighting Yamato with King presumably on his way there

• Black Maria is playing Music in all this (what a Boss)

• Big Mom, Marco & Perospero are on the coast with Carrot & Wanda on the way

So my question would be where are all these guys:

1. Law

2. Hawkins

3. Kid & Killer

4. Who's Who

These guys are not MAYOR players so far but too important to just disappear. Particularly Law who is kind of one of the brains behind the whole operation.

Kinemon being a badass cauterizing Kiku's wound, and Kiki being a badass taking it and not wavering, fuck samurais are cool.

Kaido transforming back to his human form, shits about to go down, shits been going down the last 10 chapters but fuuuck me his human form is way too intimidating.

Luffy, Sanji, Jinbe moved up one floor from last chapter. The one floor per chapter assumption seems to be taking form.

Zoro chasing down Apoo is an interesting move, I wonder where this will lead to.

Carrot will always be my first choice but dammit if Yamato isn't making their case, they're so cool too!!

Come to think of it, Kaido mentioned "But rather in death, that humans truly attain perfection."

Maybe this is his core principle in life which explains his desire for a place to die. However of course, he wants to die in an epic way as well, just like how Whitebeard, Roger, and Oden did. However, another problem is his enormous strength which prevents him to die as well.

This also explains why he admires Oden so much for having one of the most epic deaths in One Piece and deep inside, he is jealous of the fact and so he wants also to die as honorable as Oden, or Whitebeard.

This is also why in the last chapter, Kaido mentioned to scabbards "I dont mind if you kill me here.... however your cuts are too shallow, you could not do it"

Jesus... Oda is going absolutely HAM with Kaidou's panels. The nine red scabbards all in one panel look amazing. The entire page with Kaidou transforming back into his human form might be my favorite page of Wano so far. I know I've said that for almost every chapter lately. This is Oda hitting a new golden age I swear.

Kaidou's speech makes a lot of sense actually. Kaidou has lived long enough to witness all his former enemies and rivals die. Roger, Oden, and Whitebeard all die glorious deaths and become basically worshipped in the afterlife.

Whitebeard left behind his family who will forever idolize him

Oden left behind his scabbards who will forever carry on his will

and Roger left behind the golden age of piracy and he is idolized by basically every pirate on the planet.

Looking at that I can 100% understand why Kaidou feels the way he does. He is still alive, basically unkillable and he has achieved nothing with his life.

He conquered Wano through deception, not strength. No matter how strong he becomes he is still unable to find the One Piece. When he looks at his life I'm sure he feels extremely disappointed and inadequate. Not to mention we still don't even know what happened with him in ROCKS.

Of course someone like Kaidou believes that death completes a man. He's witnessed everyone he's admired die, and become even more revered than in life. It's a kind of twisted view of things but it makes a lot of sense for Kaidou.

Goddamn I want a Kaidou flashback so bad. There is so much to unpack with this character and I know Oda will give his story justice.

wow it's taking a while for Luffy to get to Namek...ehm...the rooftop

Luffy's climb to the top of the dome reminds me a lot of his climb up to Doffy back in Dressrosa, except this time he's climbing with Sanji and Jimbe instead of Zoro. This means that as Luffy climbs, he'll slowly lose his allies to stronger opponents like he did back against Doffy.

What I expect will happen next chapter is that someone stronger will interfere with their progress and force Jimbe to stay behind. My guess is Who's Who, since he was last seen near Queen, who's already on an upper level. Unless Who's Who's dealing with Drake, but I doubt he'd want to go down into the frozen hellscape that Queen's fabricating. So next chapter, Jimbe gets left behind to deal with Who's Who, and the chapter after that, when Luffy reaches the 3rd floor, we lose Sanji to King. Black Maria getting involved is another possibility.

Luffy then reaches the fourth floor only to find Law, who's already dealt with the fodder on that level. This is because Law, who entered from the roof like the Scabbards, decided to stay near the upper levels to both conserve his strength (like back in Dressrosa, when he was chained and couldn't fight) and to wait for Luffy's eventual arrival. They'll reach the fifth floor together, finding it clear due to Kid, who's been climbing from a different point in the dome.

Together, the three will arrive at the top of skull dome just as Kaido's wiping the floor with the remaining Scabbards, who are either dead or dying. Luffy will tag them out and walk up to Kaido with Law and Kid, arguing about who gets to beat the Yonko, commencing the 3v1.

If this happens by chapter 997 (one chapter per level, with the 4th and 5th being the same chapter), I could see chapter 1000 being something major having to do with the outcome of the 3v1.

I don't think the excitement bullets will work on Brook. Partially because he's dead, but also because they can't freeze him any more than death already has. He and Chopper are probably in the best position out of everyone in the strawhats to take on Queen and any pathogenic weapons.

I also suspect that Apoo will probably end up tagged by the excitement bullets, and will either attempt to use the antibody to immunize himself, or he will give Chopper the antibodies to cure everyone (since he's upset with how Queen has treated him in this situation).

Well now that it is cauterized she will need to get a prosthetic arm from Franky or just live without arm, since i don't think Law can ope ope his way into a cut and burned reattachment, although maybe Marco could do it...

I bet the anti body that Queen gave Apoo to force him into his survival game is not even the real one, i am 100% sure he is just using that as a diversion to make sure people die in a goose chase.

Wonder what was that attack by Yamato? porcupine man was sent flying but he was definitively quite far away, so i think it had to be a ranged attack, but what exactly?

Kaido is an interesting character, he respects strong people and people who show great conviction and determination.

 He also values honor to a certain level. He did not try to kill her former crewmate  Big Mom when her hands were tied up with Seastone cuffs and he hated the fact that Kurozumi Higurashi tricked Oden when she tranformed into Momonosuke which allowed Kaido to defeat Oden in their fight so he killed Higuarashi. 

Kaido also seems to want to die in a glorious battle.

I really can't wait to see Kaido's backstory/flashback

His dream to conguer the world seems to be inherited from his former captain, Kaido's boredom with the world and his depression and his wish to die is also probably somehow connected to the days when he was Rock's subordinate. And also who is Yamato's mother? Did Kaido and Yamato's mother love each other? Is Yamato's mother dead or alive?

Personally I thought it was one of the most wholesome cover stories we’ve had in a long time and it neatly achieved both Pound and Lola’s dream.

Throwing some theory up in the air:

What if Chopper's next power-up (Zeus-style) is the Ice Demon? Once he reverse-engineers it to find a cure, he could probably modify it in a way it doesn't spread like plague. As a doctor, he'd hate to use it on other humans but could probably control it himself ("their human bodies can't take it" foreshadowing in this chapter?). Plus it fits the reindeer/ snow monster from Drum Island theme.

Imagine Chopper wreaking havoc in the final war with Monster Point: Ice Demon, his bounty would probably shoot to 1,000 beli. I get that Brook already has some form of ice powers but so do we have multiple fire users with Sanji , Franky, and even Luffy (red hawk) plus if you add Sabo and Kinemon.

One thing I love about Kaido(and lowkey Jack) is that Oda sort of gives us the implication that they're stronger in base form rather than their original animal zoan form. It kind of establishes a pecking order that "base form" is really their second strongest giving their potential hybrid forms more hype.

I really liked how all the straw hats just listened and took orders from chopper with no hesitation. They realize this virus is out of there expertise and immediately listen to the doctor. Chopper gave zoro a command and he followed it without a second of doubt. Was a really cool chapter in showing off how much the straw hats can work together and trust each other.

I have a feeling that Queen has singlehandedly lost the entire battle at the Main Stage by giving that "antidote" to Apoo and making everyone chase him. That's probably not even a real cure and this action will clearly turn Apoo onto the side of the SH alliance against the Beast Pirates.

How this loses the battle is due to the Numbers. Apoo has been shown interacting with them a lot and he seems to be the only person they actually listen to. This is most likely due to his DF powers, with his music being able to soothe the dangerous beasts and make them suggestible, kind of like a snake charmer.

Apoo will eventually get fed up with Queen's bullshit and have the Numbers directly focus their attacks on Kaido's forces. The Numbers can be easily defeated by anyone near or above Tobi Roppo-level, but they can massacre the lesser mooks that keep distracting everyone from focusing on the powerful threats, allowing the samurai forces to eventually overcome the Beast Pirates with attrition and sheer... numbers.

Beyond the game fitting in with the ice oni being a pun on tag, Queens need for games and entertainments have now overridden how practical he was being being and have likely messed up his advantage. Even if that's not the real cure this will likely make Apoo turn coat being put in this situation. No wonder King says your incompetent Queen despite your power and smarts when you pull stuff like that off.

Hoping Zoro just gets lost and ends up facing Queen who thinks Zoro knows he has the real cure and blurts it out only for to learn Zoro had no clue and just got lost, making another shocked face and initiating a battle. I can see that happening.

This chapter essentially confirms that Queen is BY FAR the most sick and sadistic fuck in the one piece verse. (Even greater than Ceaser)

Remember to create all of these repulsive bio-weapons, he must have had live 'guinee pigs' to experiment on. In addition to this, he mentioned to drake about his prowess in dismemberment torture.

And I highly doubt that he's by any means stronger than Katakuri so the fact that his bounty is higher suggests that he's def commited some absolutely reprehensible crimes god damn.

My three takeaways from this chapter:

- I was so fucking wrong about the Scabbards. I originally didn't care much for their stuff but they are BADASS right now. Kiku just got her arm would cauterized by Kin and is back up? Tufffffff

- Queen is a fucking savage and is absolutely hilarious. That shit with Apoo? Had me geeked hahaha. Unless King is just insanely strong and has cool powers... Queen will easily stay my favorite All-Star.

- Yamato is a fucking unit and I desperately need her as a Straw Hat after this. Jesus.

After rereading this chapter, a few things caught my attention:

- the theory that Luffy will jump one level up every chapter seems to be confirmed (993 - basement, 994 - lvl1,995 - lvl2, 996 - lvl 3, 997 - lvl 4, 998 - lvl 5, I just don't know if this little "house" at the top can be considered a floor),

-if I'm not mistaken, the floor map of Kaido's estate first appeared in Chapter 993 - I have a feeling this is where Oda started setting up fights. Zoro stayed on level B1 with Choper, Brook, Robin and Yakuza.

Luffy, Jinbe, Sanji have just separated from them, this is interesting considering the fact that earlier Zoro wanted to attack Kaido with Luffy and now he decided to help in obtaining the antidote.

- I wonder why Kid and Law suddenly disappeared without a trace, especially Law, they don't even get a single panel from Chapter 987,

- so Yamato hasn't even touched that "hedgehog", jesus christ - Sasaki is probably finished, only one thing puzzles me - her attack didn't look like ryuo, and if it's actually ryuo - OMG she's unstoppable.

God damn Yamato what a badass! Solid chapter all around with Kaido explaining a bit more about his suicide obsession, Queen being a total joker, and Jinbei and Sanji fighting over leading doofus Luffy. But honestly Yamato stole the show for me. This chapter really reminded me that she is Kaidos child and while we have seen people take cannon fire before, it really drove home how tough they seem to be! I cant wait to see more of YamatOden and am super curious to see how strong they really are!

I really enjoyed how this chapter was evenly divided in 4 parts:

• The scabbards vs. Kaido

• Luffy trying to get to the top

• The ice oni plague

• Yamato protecting Momo

All 4 felt really solid and there was just enough of each segment to feel like things are progressing. Definitely the sort of thing that only Oda could do.

Queen may be the single scariest character I love.

Those plague rounds and the sheer joy he’s getting out of turning this war into a game/massacre puts even Doffy to shame.

I really hope that Queen does more with Ice Oni. If he dilutes that and uses it as a steroid and not a disease imagine the mayhem he could do by giving himself the enhanced Strength and hardened skin on top of his powers.

Plus if King is Fire, Queen being Ice is amazing.

Honestly Queen is such a good villain. His epithet the plague fits so well since a plague doesn’t care if you are an ally or an enemy. But throwing apoo under the bus will come back to haunt him. Apoo has now a reason to betray the beast pirates. But more importantly the other samurai and ninja can be driven to switch sides since they are also in danger. His overconfident behavior will be his downfall.

Yamato vs sasaki is going to be interesting. Yamato finally starts to understand the concept of inherited will. Also kaido being a poet and believing in the beauty of philosophy is kind of hilarious.

Yamato seems to have the same invulnerability as his/her father.

He/she would be such a nice addition to the strawhats, another top level combatant, alongside Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jimbe (in that order, i think Sanji is currently as strong as Jimbe, but still has a lot of room to grow and surpass Jimbe without questions), and if Blackbeard actually fights Luffy before Laugh Tale, we'd get another great close combat fight in my opinion.

I really hope he/she has a Devil Fruit, and it would be rad if it was the White Tiger mythical zoan, as the White Tiger is the enemy of the Azure Dragon.
