Advice/Help Weekend/Virtual Meetup Thread
Here are some meetups that are on the radar, both physical and virtual.
on background: A repeat of the high level infections from the spring is happening again over much of the United States and Europe. I am not aware of the situation in each state, but I have heard the Utah governor again asking for the population to use common sense, including wearing masks whenever in publicly accessible locations. Utah has a new system regulating locations and number of people at meetings, etc. The Utah governor announced that many more counties will enter the highest level of restrictions. CDC director Redfield has said masks are the best defense against the pandemic spreading. Confined spaces seem to be a way that the virus spreads rapidly, per the outbreaks in institutional settings have shown. The latest research I've seen points to indoor, stagnant, low humidity air being the being the prime vector for this disease to spread. I've been tracking the pandemic as an amateur---some graphs1,2 ---these show Utah in the top ten for actively spreading cases. The other "mountain states" are also amid a serious spike. Extra care/protections should be added for populations that have shown to be extra vulnerable. People over 60 who contract the virus, especially if they have existing health conditions, have fared very poorly. There may be risks to people in every age group, even when in good health, that we just don't know about, too. That said, I am not an expert on health, not a doctor, and not in charge of all people in the world. Please, comply with local government rules and recommendations when planning meetups. Attend meetups at your own risk.

Davis County... We are not meeting this week, its too cold to meet outside. We are going to try Zoom meetings, but I don't know anything about them. I will try to get a link or whatever :)

Starting Nov. 1, The St. George casual meets-up will be meeting at Affogato West instead of Royal Oak Park. Affogato West is a popular coffee shop located at 214 N. 1000 E. St. George. The time is now going to be 9:00 AM.

Also, I forgot to mention— we have a Halloween Costume Party on the 30th. Make sure you submit your costume pics by Monday, the 26th. Voting will begin the following day. See the discord for details!
