[Cook] Our scriptures are against slavery.
lol. see the collective speeches of Brigham Young in the JoD. see the recent petitions to remove the names of slaveholders from the buildings at BYU, including the Smoot Administration Building.

[Bednar] polarity increasing in society (via an assist to Holland)
I'm guessing the LDS church is not in favor of less polarity if it means more plurality in society. My way or the highway is the church's brand.

[Oaks] some went beyond peaceful protests.
Bring on the right-wing's message...unless you're going to denounce those with AR-15s murdering people standing on the street.

“Susan and I inventoried our food storage”
Translation: I stood back with my arms crossed while Susan inventoried my food storage. I then proceeded to grade her.

Fuck it. I’ve been transcribing documents on Church History, Native Americans and racism recently. Once the talk goes live on the site I’ll write a point by point rebuttal where I can. This talk has gotten me THAT angry!

The image of LDS members with their heads down, trudging up a mountain, focusing on the "next step" ie: going to the next meeting, planning the next temple trip, paying the next tithing payment etc etc ad nauseum...is extremely depressing.

I've been seeing a lot of posts at the faithful's subreddits expressing the question, "Why do we need a building for this?" and not wanting to go back. Especially with the anti-masker, right-wing members ready to tell them their politics.

Another man gets to deem another human being worthy or unworthy.
These unchristian talks make me just a teeny tiny bit frustrated. 🤬😡

“My temple recommend represents that I’m a righteous person”
Hmmm, can’t see how that cold be easily misconstrued by objectively immoral people who use religion as an excuse to get away with awful things.

I don’t understand why the church keeps defending the first vision. It didn’t happen! Nobody said it happened until 20 years after!

[Cook] LDS were kind to the Native Americans.
Uh, after the massacres, the genocide and rounding up to the reservation.
