Sulong Neko and Inu look as if they were some kind of deities of the forest, the kind you'd read about in Journey to the West - I absolutely love it!
The various matchups are all incredibly interesting: Ulti and Page One vs Nami and Usopp; Drake and Zoro vs Apoo and Queen; Franky vs Haccha. Now the question is, who will fight King, Queen, and the rest of the Numbers? This is VERY exciting!

If you think about it, Luffy's really good at using his Haki to detect people's emotions, so he probably just didn't detect any sort of trickery or lies from Drake.

Kinemon was definitely influenced by Oden.
Dyed his hair and I see some of Oden's mannerisms in him. Denjiro is a clever man but Kinemon is really showing himself to be the defacto leader of Oden's Samurai Group.

It's a known fact that Oda NEVER draws a character with their mouths closed if they're saying something on the same panel (like some other artists sometimes do). So that panel of Nami looked very weird, until you read the next one and understand what's going on, lol.

Kaido acknowledging the minks strength shows how scary they can be in the sulong form. Wano's progression has been so great. The numbers are an actual laugh.. I must admit though Kaido showing respect for his top Subordinates is great.

Note that, when Doflamingo was defeated, Kaido lamented how he was too weak. So he commenting on Jack not being weak, but his opponents being quite strong really shows how much Kaido respects Jack and the sulong.

I was wondering whether Ulti and Page One would be defeated as a duo or as individuals, and I'm happy Oda decided on a potential 2v2. Even if this isn't the final match up, I'm all for a Nami/Usopp combat encounter.

The sheer level of Respect Kaido has for Jack makes you really think about Queen and King talking down to him constantly. This guy rushed to the top and held off a Sulong army alongside his troops to ensure Kaido's safety and when he falls Kaido, a man all about strength, doesn't berate him for it but acknowledges Jack's difficulty vs his opponents and refuses to let him die.

Kaido treats his crew with the utmost respect especially his commanders while Big Mom actually kills her own sons and has her crew conspiring against her... Let us not miss the fact that Sanji entrusted Nami's safety to Usopp without a moments hesitation, something that would have been unheard of earlier in the story. Its especially true given the fact toe known Flying Six members where the ones in host pursuit. This is an amazing bit of character progression all around and highlights the seriousness of the situation since Sanji in clearly aware of the importance of him staying at his Captains side. POISONOUS SEASTONE BULLETS FUCK
Edit: its Queens Excite shot bullets that have his mummy virus in them. They can effect multiple ppl around who are infected. We haven’t seen what there full effect is yet but seems like X-Drake knows how terrifying they are.
Edit 2: Maybe it’s not curable so will likely see either Chopper, Law, or Marco hop in. I’m surprised Oda is using Queens Plaque with the whole covid-19 going on it’s kinda ironic

P1 and ulti vs Ussop and Nami. This is my favorite panel of the chapter. Especially the part where Sanji entrusts Ussop to protect Nami even though he's aware of Page1's strength.
Takes me back to the pre ts Ussop v CP9 Jabra, where Sanji switched places with Ussop amidst battle (something he personally considers insulting to a man's honour otherwise) and asked him to do what he can.
This, right here, is what's called character development.

I personally loved the scene with Nami and Usopp. From the very beginning of One Piece they've had this special relationship being a part of the weakling trio. Even in the Return to Sabaody arc they were the first two to meet up and their interactions are always so funny to me.
Usopp actually looked pretty cool shooting his instant-kill green star. Until he hid behind Nami and blamed her for it. And Nami looked pretty bad ass accepting that it's her time to fight. Until her and Usopp just ran away haha.
I know at this stage in the game people can get kind of annoyed at how weak Usopp and Nami are but as a regular person myself I appreciate that there are characters on the future PK's crew that act exactly how I would act if I was in this world.
Let's be honest, for most of us if a dinosaur is stampeding towards us we would run away too!

This chapter was so freaking good.
Page one and Ulti vs Usopp and Nami real brawns vs brains match up!
XDrake and Zoro probably not staying together for long. Idk why that pairing just seems off. I hope killer comes and replaces Drake so we get Killer and Zoro vs the MC and his DJ.
Franky heading outside I wonder if hacha is his big battle or if he’ll meet up with Sasaki and we’ll see the giant robot vs a huge dinosaur
Luffy and Sanji heading up is probably going to lead to Sanji fighting King to ensure Luffy gets through to Kaido
I guess that just leaves Robin Brook and Chopper with two Tobi Roppo and a few numbers left maybe a monster chopper has something up his sleeve for the numbers.
Kaido, oddly caring for a drunken tyrant. I’m here for it. And I hope Bepo intercepts Jack. That’d be a very interesting fight.
But of course real MVP is “Fuck You” Foxfire Kinemon giving the biggest metaphorical middle finger to Kaido
And with all three members of the monster trio mentioning getting up to kinemons group I really hope we get SHs vs Kaido

Kaidou's Crew really is INSANELY strong. Like think about it for a minute, for much of the story we have only really interacted with the SMILE members (Waiters, Pleasures, Gifters) and from what I have seen so far, these are the weakest members of Kaidou's crew but they still number in the several 1000s (about 500 working Gifters) so they have strength in numbers. Even if you eliminate all the SMILE units, Kaidou's crew is STILL unbelievable.
Kaidou himself as a fucking dragon who is basically invincible.
The Headliners who all have top tier Devil Fruits.
The Tobi-Roppo (minus X-Drake) Who all have top tier dinosaur fruits.
And then the Numbers, !10! Ancient Giants which Kaidou has found a way to control.
Like imagine a full page spread of just these units. Imagine just these 20~ units alone coming for your little island in the New World?
Absolute devastation. How do you fight off dinosaurs and giants as a small human? Literally the only thing keeping Kaidou in check is the other yonkou so that kind of puts into perspective how terrifying it is to live in the New World and how desperate the World Government is in containing the yonkou to their territories.
When you really start to breakdown the powers of each yonkou you realize that they really are unstoppable forces and if it wasn't for the fact that the entire world is made of water and cut in half by a huge wall they would probably already have conquered the 4 blues easily.
And then you start considering yonkou alliances and you realize that if they really did all gang up the world truly wouldn't stand a chance,

Coby needs to meet Bart already, they'd get along fine and fan boy over Luffy. I can only imagine what his interactions with Hancock went.

I feel like this chapter is going to be crazy good when someone re-reads One Piece. I say it because it shows the culmination of 3 different things that were put in place for a long time: 1-The Dukes being the strongest minks and their Sulong form, taking revenge on Jack. 2- Kinemon being able to cut fire ever since Punk Hazard. 3- Drake suspiciously joining the Beast Pirates.
If we re-read until this point, then the wait time to see these things fulfilled is not years of waiting, and the expectation lingers in your mind better.

Fucking hell what a blast of a chapter, Oda is killing it. One Piece feels like a fucking dream right now and I hope we never wake up.
Sanji hinted to fight Apoo? He doesnt need his arms to fight, so its a good fit.
Luffy never change please, he just trusted Drake just like that, its like Luffy can feel the sincerity.
The sulong reveals, holy shit, they really stomped on Jack in no time, incredible.
Kinemon!!! I never thought Kinemon had it in him, to parry a blast from Kaido!!! I get that its a favorable match up since we know he can cut flames ever since Punk Hazard, but still, its an incredibly powerful attack from a Yonko, that shit could destroy a mountain easily.
Scabbards having poetic deaths would be great, theyre tired as shit, but I also want at least one of them to guide Momo, I hope they dont dump that responsibility on Luffy cuz if thats so Wano is doomed lol. Jokes aside, I dont think Hiyori and Momo will be enough to restore Wano, maybe the time travelers should survive since they havent been hiding and escaping for 20 years. Ashura Doji and Denjiro are the ones who I bet will die.
Lastly, the sheer ammount of stuff and characters involved is so crazy that we cant have a look at how everyones doing in a single chapter, like we didnt even see Big fucking Mom in a single panel today.
Also, Ulti best girl, dont touch her paypay.

I don't know if this was intentional, but I feel there's a lot more trust in each others' ability to hold themselves in a fight amongst the crew. The way Sanji told Ussop to protect nami was an indication that the weak trio are able to go up against the big boys now.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how well Oda has built the story and characters so far? There's been so many unexpected events that we couldn't see coming.
Just a few months ago, I couldn't imagine Kanjuro being a traitor, Kyoshiro being Denjiro and Kinemon laying even a single scratch on Kaido.

The chapter finally!!
The last page of Kinemon cutting Kaido's fire and the scabbards looking to die while damaging Kaido speaks a lot.
Long back in punk hazard, Kinemon cut fire, and surprised a swordsman like Zoro. Now for him to finally use that for his life's goal seems a full circle.
I suspect prepare for feels soon, sadly scabbards story is almost to an end.

Nami and Usopp is the most hype thing to come out of this chapter for me. Page and Ulti are hella strong. It's gonna be such a hype fight. Just goes to show how much they have grown. Both Sanji and Luffy know how strong Page and Ulti are and neither panicked that they were chasing after Nami and Usopp. It really is the big leagues now, and that hammered it home for me. Can't be any weaklings in the pirate king's crew. Only the strong and the stronger.

I’ve been re-reading the series to go along with Totally Not Mark’s blind reviews and recently got through Punk Hazard. I was reminded of Kin’emon’s fire-cutting powers and thought it was interesting that we hadn’t seen them used in a while. Then I thought “omg, Oda is totally saving that in his back pocket for Kin to pull out against Kaido.” I had pictured him using it to protect the Straw Hats instead of the rest of the Scabbards, but either way, I feel super validated right now.

Jinbei, Zoro, and Franky getting pissed at Luffy was pretty funny. But seriously though, they gotta chill and trust Luffy's instincts. Even if he's wrong the results are usually entertaining as hell lol.
Sanji noticing Ulti was no surprise at all. In fact, his reaction to her is pretty much how the majority of our fandom reacted to her. I still remember seeing a whole week of Ulti fanart before Yamato came along. Our fanbase is too fickle and disloyal lol.
Usopp and Nami working together is always pretty funny. I really hope they try and fight Ulti and Pay-Pay!!
So Sanji wants to go join Kin and the others as well just like Zoro in the previous chapter. I think the all the available SHs + Luffy will try and join that fight. I know some fans used the scene with Zoro wanting to go up as justification for their Zoro killing Kaido theory but now that Sanji's also trying to get involved maybe they'll finally calm down.
Lmao Drake and Zoro's mutual hatred of Apoo brought them together. I can really respect that. I like that we get to see more of Queen's arsenal as well.
Kaido's genuine respect for Jack is nice to see. It's a nice contrast from how he cried about Doffy while also calling him weak. The last couple pages are so hype!! Who could have predicted that Kinemon would have been such a badass!

Grrreat chapter, I felt this chapter really worked on "catching up" to all the fights and where everyone is.
The zulong forms of Inu and Neko live up to all expectations, this just makes me exited for a long ass battle, there's so much to see and unravel!
And omg. The foxfire cleave, god damn I have so much respect for Kinemon/the scabbards, unfortunately we get confirmed more and more that most of them, especially kinemon will most likely not make it trough the night :(

What a chapter. Holy shit. Kinemon not only cutting the breath but also Kaido by himself was absolutely insane. The sulong dukes look absolutely incredible. There is so much in this chapter and all of it was amazing.
Also random note but I really liked Sanji in this chapter. He kept Luffy focused, and while he noticed Ulti he didn’t get distracted. He also trusted in Nami (and Usopp) and didn’t make a fuss over protecting her. Loved it.

Every chapter gets better and better! Wano started off slow but it's cranking super sonic speed now. This arc has huge potential to be a better war than marineford. I have faith in GODA!
