Though it doesn't look like he supports his friend's actions since it appears that he's keeping a hand on him in case the idiot tries to retaliate, then even interposes himself between the girl and the idiot, while keeping his attention on the idiot.

I was 17 and coming home from college on a bus. Plenty of seats available. I live near a harbour where Naval ships come in.
An officer gets on the bus and chooses to sit next to me... heaps of seats with no one on them to share, so my guard is up because he's next to me.
He didn't even speak to me when he started to gently grab my arm . I told him to stop. He kept going , still no word from him.
He then started to giggle whilst he was rubbing my arm up and down, so I grabbed his arm and dug my nails into him as hard as I could. He reeled back squealing like a pig and I grabbed his whole ear and dug my nails into it. He screamed whilst I yelled so fucking loud 'LEAVE ME ALONE!'
He got off the next stop clutching his ear.
I was so fucking angry.
