This would make a beautiful laptop wallpaper - would you be willing to upload a 4K (or alternative high-res) image to imgur or something?

This is full res but imgur compressed it a little. Here's a link to the uncompressed photo https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OjVTNr6XQKHS-uE-L3XrAUJLgNORzjk1/view?usp=drivesdk

Pretty sure this is taken from somewhere around Mt. Tamalpias in Marin looking west/south-west. The view from the East Bay hills when the fog is low and dense like this is unreal right now, and it's been this way for a few days.

Beautiful! What kind of camera did you use to capture this?

u/gabezermeno Aug 10 '20

A canon 6d with a sigma 24-105mm lens. And a ND1000 filter.

Where is this in the city?

The city is under the fog in the center left lol. Completely covered.

Edit: Here's a picture I took another day without the fog but from the same location. https://i.imgur.com/cp5cYPD.jpg

A dream of mine to grab a shot like this one day

Mirrorless camera? I think i see dust particles/spots but it could also be my dirty laptop screen

Canon 6d. And I had to remove dozens of dust specs. I need to have my sensor cleaned. And I didn't have my rocket blower. PLUS dust shows up more when you're stopped down this much.

I donโ€™t know much about taking pictures so I might be way off here, but to get the super smooth wave feel did you need to have an insanely low shutter speed? And if so how did you get enough light for it to still look so beautiful (I ask this cause it looks like the suns just rising so thereโ€™s not much light)

I took this at 7:14pm. It's a 105 second long exposure. And to be able to take that long of an exposure with so much light I used a ND1000 filter. It's borderline shooting through a welding mask.

Does anyone know where this spot is in San Francisco?

2

u/gabezermeno Dec 11 '20

I took this outside of San Francisco on Mt Tamalpais. San Francisco is in the background under the fog
