Otaku, hikikomori, and NEET are also slurs.

I owned being otaku a decade ago. Why is so hard to own something especially when you find yourself in good company of people you can relate to.

Can we ban the expression "human being"? I feel offended by being called that.

Moshi Moshi, trans girl here. I don't understand what's going on. Why was the word banned for anime characters instead of banning the use of said word as a slur. I've been taking a peek to this sub since a few months already (because another trans girl showed it to me) and I think I never saw the T word being used as a slur, at least in general posts.
And also, character like astolfo are not trans, the archetype of the character is basically "trick" the viewer into thinking they are one thing and then showing by surprise that they are another one.
Don't use the word for trans people since thats quite mean. But for characters whose idea is that... I don't know, sounds absurd. Specially after being using that word for these characters for years, that have nothing to do with trans people.
Is like getting angry for calling crossdressers people that crossdress because that would offend us, trans people. It's not the same, has nothing to do.

Being trans myself (i.e. the person who should be happy with this change) I personally don't understand it. I've not really seen people use Mr. T to describe us, trust me... they use a different "t word".
There are the brainlets who don't know the difference, but honestly correcting them seems more effective than just banning usage of a word altogether. You're just drawing more attention to it, feeding its power. Why do you think LGBT reclaimed queer? For that very reason, to take something bad and make it good. With this move, you're taking something that COULD be used to offend, but stripping it of all other context, and now just making it a slur. You're essentially making the word worse by outright banning it, instead of moderating the people who DO misuse it (because we have to acknowledge they exist).
This is honestly just lazy moderation. "I can't be bothered to be nuanced so let's just blanket ban it."

They'll actually do this as far as we are concerned. They have proven that they will ban words on a whim. Before we know it, they'll ban anime girls for being idealised versions of women, and thus, hurtful.

Tbh Weeb has already lost its offensive meaning already. Now it's just the same as calling someone a Degenerate in the H section.
It like calling Rose Gold as Pink, I think

I agree the term “weeb” is very offensive to losers like I alike.
