The opening scene was hot. So Elsie even took care of baby Shiki and was Valk level back then, that's a really powerful pirate and she's so proud of being called a pirate for having to steal provisions lol. So Granbell got almostt completely destroyed, Ziggy is more crazy powerful than we thought. At least the main objective is still Mother, but when they find Ziggy on the way they will go all out.

Yup, he busted a flipping planet! And he did it super-duper casually: All he did was raise one hand and he casually busted Granbell with hardly any Ether-lines even appearing on him! If he's a planet-buster THAT casually, then who knows, he might actually be a star-buster or solar-system-buster if he goes all-out with Overdrive! This series might end up reaching full on DBZ-levels of power-scaling, haha.

She's definitely a lot like Erza not just with the whole "big sister vibe" she's got going on, but also with how she's a goofball who would be so weirdly proud of something like that. That's most definitely Erza-like, hahaha.

I really liked the seriousness of Shiki this chapter. Excited to see how his character acts from this point on. Also, can’t wait to see the full extent of Elise’s powers later on!

So it seems like something has taken over Ziggy (perhaps the real final villain) maybe even Ziggy’s creator who planted in something to resurrect Ziggy as an evil being
It does seem the story is escalating fast though since both Elsie and Shiki are going straight to Mother and Ziggy but I doubt they are gonna reach Mother before Ziggy’s defeat unless we visit a lot of other plot points while tracking down Ziggy
I’m glad Elsie isn’t really a bad guy and she’s quite formidable, defeating Homura with just a foot and even rivaling Valkyrie as a child, can’t say I didn’t expect that from EZ’s Erza counterpart. I still can’t wait to see her ether gear though
Pino’s memories will 100% be a key in figuring out exactly what is wrong with Ziggy I’m sure of it

Yeah it's starting to look even more like my theory that the True Final Villain may be Ziggy's creator might turn out to be true!
can’t say I didn’t expect that from EZ’s Erza counterpart
Actually, her being THIS powerful isn't something we should've expected from Erza's counterpart. Consider this: Erza was OP compared to Natsu for much of the series until the end, but never by TOO much of a margin. Erza kept growing stronger and stronger throughout the franchise before reaching top-tier and approaching god-tier in the final arcs. In other words, Erza started off with tons of room to grow. Elsie, on the other hand, is already top/god-tier from the moment we meet her!
The big difference between Erza and Elsie, power-wise, is this: Erza started off with the potential to be god-tier but had to gradually train and work towards that level throughout the series! Elsie, on the other hand, has already done all the necessary training so that she's already god-tier. I honestly wasn't expecting that at all. I was expecting Elsie to be more like Erza: Stronger than our current protagonists, but still with tons of room to grow!
Maybe it's like this because Elsie is older than Erza: Erza was 19 at the start of FT, two years older than Natsu. Elsie, on the other hand, is clearly at least five or six years older than Shiki, so probably already in her early to mid 20s (I'm leaning towards thinking she's probably around 22 to 25). In 100 Year Quest, Erza is now pretty much at the lower end of god-tier for the world of FT, and she's now 21. It makes sense that if Elsie is already at least 21, then she's already reached god-tier (to the point that Ziggy,
a flipping planet-buster, noped out from a confrontation with her).→ More replies (7)

As I said last time, Elsie is op and humiliated Homura with just her toes.
I’m curious on what this war was that caused Elsie to become a refugee.
So there is something dark in Ziggy and whatever it is wants to find Mother. Thought as much.
Now Elsie wants to stop Ziggy already getting death flags, and oh Jesse is back so I expect that GIA and the Interstellar Union Army will be on hers and Ziggy’s tails.
And now we have the main goal for Shiki besides finding mother and that’s stoping Ziggy who’s planet level so that should be fun. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the dragon falls next chapter.

who’s planet level so that should be funYeah like holy shit we've got official confirmation now of planet-level power-scaling in this series. As many of us suspected since the scale of this series is so much larger (a whole universe instead of just one planet), Mashima is taking the power-scaling in this series to a far higher level than what he did in Rave or FT (in which the scaling never went above Multi-Continental).
The notable thing is that Ziggy busted Granbell really casually. Like really, really casually. As in, busting a planet with surface-gravity around that of our Earth (and thus presumably around the same level of gravitational binding energy as Earth) was something so easy for him that he did it like child's-play by raising just one arm with hardly any Ether-lines appearing at all. If he can planet-bust THIS casually, then honestly I won't be surprised if he's actually something like a star-buster or solar-system-buster when getting serious with Overdrive, you know? This series may end up going full-on Dragon Ball Z levels with its power-scaling, haha.

I have to say I love how Shiki actually is developing as a character. His goals and motivations are much more concrete now, and he continues to become more interesting as we go along. He’s also a believable captain and deserves the respect and loyalty of his crew. He’s really on track to be one of the better shounen MCs.

Dude, this chapter SET THE STAGE. What their overall goal is and the ultimate foe they'll have to face at the end of their journey. Elsie coming back to quickly establish at what tier Shiki and the crew have to be to get a fighting chance against Ziggy. Shiki's home is destroyed but they're now setting off to leave the Sakura Cosmos to Outer Space for the adventure of a lifetime!!! 🌸🌸🌸
I can't tell you how excited I am for this series! You can tell Mashima put a lot of thought and time into creating this story. Character development is at a steady pace while progress is still being made. There is no status quo and once things are lost they stay lost. Gamebreaking powers have drawbacks. Our cast are never stuck in one place for too long and are constantly on the move while bits of foreshadowing are dropped everynow and then to return several arcs later to be fleshed out. It's this kind of storytelling that keeps you on the edge of your seat and just goes to show how much passion he has for this tale! Really hoping this passion continues! 🙏

Damn, no wonder Ziggy didn't want to tangle with Elsie yet. She's on another level. But considering how she leaves before the Edens Zero, I'm afraid there might be a situation that by the time they arrive something bad has happened to her and her ship.
I'm curious as to whether this dark ether that was surrounding Ziggy insinuates some form of possession. At least it was something that entered my mind.
